Surprise Pumpkin Plants from Seeds in the Compost

I noticed last night when cooking out back on the grill that we had a number of plants coming up in the beds that I had not planted. Upon closer inspection I found that the majority were all pumpkin seeds rom the Jack-o-lanterns we had carved last year. Seeing as how they were free seeds coming up in the beds, I figured why not move them to a planter and see what we can do with them later in the year. That's the thing about compost; you never know what might sprout once you've put it in your beds. In our case we've got pumpkins and a potato or two.
