Looking back, I realized that Aaravos did what he did in this episode to get Terry away from Claudia on purpose So,that he is the only influence that Claudia has. Yes, Aaravos does genuinely care about her but that doesn't mean he always has her best interests at heart. Claudia doesn't know how to be better because no one ever taught her to and Aaravos wants to make sure that she stays under his and only his thumb alone, metaphorically speaking
Aaravos does seem to genuinely sympathize with him, though, which makes sense given that his own daughter probably still had a true heart before she died.
Aaravos squashed Terry's innocence like he squashed Karim lol. Glad Terry finally got to grow a bit though. Claudia loved him but couldn't do so in a healthy way and he was letting his own light be dimmed just trying to keep hers alive. I was proud of him for choosing himself and what he believed was right in the end.
once again, shows aaravos is the devil of this series. in this case the serpent of eden. the one who's responsible for the end of innocence with his words.
I do love how it's terry, the one with the true heart, who calls arravos out on his bullsh*t. He may not lie, but he tells half truths, and that is far worse. I'm reminded of belle in once upon a time when Rumple claims he didn't break his promise only for her to point out how he twists words.
I don't know which part is chilling. The fact that he manipulated and broke this boy. Or the fact that he's explaining the beauty of moral complexity like he's his damn father. Adds into perspective the twists and turns of Aaravos himself. I don't think he necessarily wanted Terry to go through this, but the man is hellbent on destruction.
It's exactly what Satan does in the Bible. He never actually lies. Just tells people the part they want to hear and purposely leaves up the part they need to hear completely changing the context.
Aaravos was become now a sorcerer of dreadful power, master of shadows and of phantoms, foul in wisdom, cruel in strength, misshaping what he touched, twisting what he ruled, lord of devourers; his dominion was torment.
Where exactly is all this dreadful power and mastery of shadows that you speak of. So he stopped Terry’s vines and killed a bird, big deal. He does his usual half truths and Terry is a dumbass for not expecting anything shady. Otherwise, the show is bullshitting if it makes us want to believe Terry somehow still has his innocence. He literally stepped on the smushed body, blood, and wings of The Beings in the first scene of season 6. He saw his girlfriend all covered in blood due to murdering The Being. How exactly does one keep their innocence that the world is all just sunshines, rainbows, and black and white with no shade of grey. He stood by Claudia and Viren doing despicable things, stood by freeing Aaravos, and was cast out of his own species for being trans. Yet he somehow just lost his innocence in the last season simply over Aaravos killing a bird. Bullshit
This scene right here is a classic manipulation tactic. Aaravos is removing the one other person who has stood by Claudia, leaving her alone with him. It's part of why I think that while Aaravos sees Claudia as a surrogate daughter, he also still sees her as a tool.
@@gabematthews4532 his innocense makes no sense btw....he KILLD someone yes out of Love but as Araavos explains true Innocense Terry wouldnt be able to read the map...
It's interesting how Aaravos seems to spare the good guys. Just this season he could have easily killed Callum and Terry but he doesn't even really try
Honestly Terry expressed the type of person Aarovos was better than everyone combined i mean i get why Aarovos is angry but hurting the natural order to hurt the celestial elves what does he hope to accomplish
I feel so bad for Terry. He has done a LOT for Claudia….. but she was so blinded by her obsession with dark magic and such. I also think that Aaravos manipulated both of them 🤷🏻♀️ especially Claudia 😞 she is my favorite character in the show, I really hope she gets a redemption arc :( or at least a happy ending, she deserves better.
