Sounds like a good time, we take our RV to Rutherford sometimes and love it. May is great weather for it for sure.
the gafftop catfish are really good to eat. you have to trim the red meat out between the skin and white meat. its very good though
Gafftop are good eating for sure, they are real good in a beer batter then made into a taco.

Well good luck, and have fun. Just be careful of the soft sand at Holly it's not hard packed like Rutherford.
Would Holly Beach be a good fishing beach the first week in March?
Well, it's not the ideal time to be there to fish but my wife and I have caught reds almost every month of the year. Not saying we caught fish every time we go, but that time of the year is slow.

Ever catch bigger sharks?
The biggest shark we have caught is around 4 ft. Now we have hooked up on huge ones and had one spool me and one broke the line and cracked the rod at the same time. There are big ones out there.
Where on holly beach were yall fishing?
Any where from .5 miles to 1.5 miles west of the houses at Holly Beach. We catch them all the time there and Rutherford beach as well.
You're not very good at watching that pole...put a bell on it.
