These Bruneau-Jarbridge and Owyhee canyons always intrigue me. Just took a spectacular canyon drive up the Owyhee River to Owyhee Lake to see the ring gate (hole of death) flowing since I'm only an hour away in Idaho. Driving that canyon and the contrasts of all the colors, it makes you wonder why the Grand Canyon gets so much more recognition. I'll take the Bruneau-Owyhee Canyonlands and Hell's Canyon any day over the Grand Canyon.

We ran there in the late 70s and early 80s in a 12 foot raft, at about 1500 cfs. It was difficult, especially the falls sections.

I've probably watched this vid 4 times in the last week. This is a must-do for me this year. Let me know if you hit it again.

If anyone is impressed with these rock formations along the river, here's the video lecture to watch to understand
the Caldera and how it was formed:

Great video, how many days did y'all take? Also it's Jarbidge, not Jarbridge

Could this be done in June? What is the lowest possible flow with a packraft?

It is usually running well in early June. Not sure, probably under 500
