On the good side of Constantine, wikipedia does say that 7 years after Constantine came to some power, and soon after he conquered the Italian portion of the Empire, Constantine was the first emperor to stop the persecution of Christians and to legalize Christianity, along with all other religions/cults in the Roman Empire. In February 313, he met with Licinius in Milan and developed the Edict of Milan, which stated that Christians should be allowed to follow their faith without oppression. This removed penalties for professing Christianity, under which many had been martyred previously, and it returned confiscated Church property. The edict protected all religions from persecution, not only Christianity, allowing anyone to worship any deity that they chose. A similar edict had been issued in 311 by Galerius, senior emperor of the Tetrarchy, which granted Christians the right to practise their religion but did not restore any property to them. The Edict of Milan included several clauses which stated that all confiscated churches would be returned, as well as other provisions for previously persecuted Christians.

The truth of Science uncovered the truth in history, to the truth in governments to the truth in religions. Now i cannot quit researching! I understand their little booklets on Saints, mysteries and rosary prayers supercede the Bible and they feel it's the same thing. At 44 years old I am now watching my father slowly decline medically and the fear he has of dying as he holds his rosary saddens my heart because as he prays diligently to Mary all I can think is that she cannot hear him. His fear of death is his lack of knowledge and faith in Christ, but he holds the Pope in authority and the Pope's knowledge above mine. I pray for my immediate family that some day (before it's too late) they will open their eyes to the truth but, as of now, His Word falls upon deaf ears and blinded eyes. I know that many of them think I will burn in hell for not standing by religion, however if they only knew that religion is the very heart of the problem. Christ is our Savior and the believers are his church.

I wish Simcha sees my comment. We're from Kerala, India with one of the oldest Christian heritage. One thing to note is that the Christians here were/are ethnically Jewish and also, that until the Portuguese invasion, these Christians kept Halakha - to all extent. After the Portuguese came, they burnt all Christian documents here and defined their own in the Synod of Diamper.
They were surprised to see a people who thought Jesus was a Messiah but never even knew of the pope or any other things that were associated with Christianity.
Some nice thinking here - definitely would need follow-up episodes dealing with the Council of Nicaea and the crackdown on Gnosticism to make a real case for the final assertion. Would really like to see it though!

You're not using your brain here, how can you join the people you can easily destroy in an instance, I think we need to use our common sense a little. Actually Christianity as whole is a Paganism if you want to look at it from that perspective.
Paganism is not religion therefore it can't be counted as such. The true meaning of Pagan meant outsider, meaning people that had different believes from Christianity. And as such those different believes were lumped as Pagan.
Nevertheless to say Catholicism is form of "Paganism" is absolutely not correct because the whole Christianity and their 30.000 denominations are "Paganism". Within the very Christianity the reason there are so many denominations are because they don't share the same beliefs, like for example some consider Jesus as Prophet only, some as the adopted son of God because God promised David he will accept a son from his bloodlines as his own, some believe Jesus is a true biological son of God, and some believe Jesus is God.

Dude l don't care what Google says, go to a library, invest 100s of hours studying religion then we can talk what does Paganism stand for. To begin with the word didn't hold any religious meanings at all. It was a word for outsiders, people that chose their freedom and lived out of fortresses. When Christianity started to take over the world by force they decided to reinvent the word Pagan which meant anyone who didn't believe in Christian doctrine was labelled as Pagan and they even invested in spreading rumours saying that Paganism was a polytheistic believe.
Take Zoroastrianism for example, it was the first ever organised religion, they are not Polytheism yet thanks to Christianity who mind you stole a lot of Mithraic traditions and rites, Zoroastrianism was shoved on the Pagan lump.
Christianity has not brought a single thing unknown to mankind before Christianity .... if Paganism is a religion which includes so many different believes some polytheistic some monotheistic, then we can absolutely say Christianity too is Paganism. Christianity as I stated has over 30.000 denominations, some can be seen as monotheistic yet the main branches of Christianity are henotheist and when they include the imaginary enemy of god, aka satan then these branches in fact make a jump from henotheist to down right polytheist.
Secrets of Christianity is indeed a good title...When I was still in the seminary they only teach you what they only want you to know... when I was actively working in the ministry I still studied during the available time I would have and I was shocked with so many very interesting information and made me so curious...later I taught in the Bible School and still I was going along with the teachings I was taught. Then later on I began to really go the other way. Now, I am more of an Agnostic Theist and an Atheist in the context of theology where I was taught. There's so much in history that Christians did not really tell people, maybe because the information being shared before is not like today that you can easily access and learn from a different perspective.
Did you study Islam? Atleast they say it came to correct the corruption in the Abrahamic religion that Christianity created. I love some of the truths in the Bible and living a Christ-like life but I cant accept the christian theology anymore.

As I've discovered researching Josephus relationship with Titus Flavians. Titus was supposed to have had Josephus write the new testament in a manner to make Titus a god because Josephus could write in the Jewish Narritive and in doing so Titus would punish the Jewish Peoples for being a 100 year royal pain in the ass to the Flavian Dyansty and in reality Christian's would be worshipping Titus while Christian's believed they were worshiping Jesus Christ. The story of Constantine is complicated in today's Christianity but however, let us not forget the parable of Matthew 21:33-45 because of disobedient, Jesus said to the Jewish, “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation that will bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder. Anyway it was parable but when we look also unto the passage of Luke 21:24, it says, “They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. So for this reason I am no wonder that the Romans took over the world, even if Constantine was not a Christian, it is through him the Christians got a chance to develop the word of the Lord Jesus Christ Christianity. I can see also that the Lord used him to open a way to spread his word all around the world. This is not the first time God is picking a sinner to change his way of living by using him for his own purposes. However, it is a great thing that many of the world population has heard about the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, for Jesus said the Message must to be preached on the whole world then end shall come. What makes me glad is that, when I read the Bible it is not talking about the God of Constantine, neither shall it talks about the Constantine himself. But rather the Bible talks about God of heaven and earth, it talks about the Lord Jesus Christ and the entire world. So for this reason I see Constantine as someone who came across in order to fulfilled some parts of the Bible Prophecy but not someone to honoured as some people thinking or saying. I thank God that he is not part of those who wrote the Bible but part of the Rulers of the world in order to fulfilled the prophecies in the Scripture. So either he became a Christian or not, the most important thing is to know that only the Lord Jesus Christ can give eternal life and he and is the Son of the living God. What matters most, is to acknowledge God the Creator of heaven and earth and his Son Jesus Christ who was crucified on the the Cross behalf of our sinns in order to save us from the power of Satan and brings us into Godly life which leads to eternal life of our souls. This is the important things we must force on as the people of the world today, it is not about the life of Constantine, because there is a strong him and the Bible also was written before him. So we need to understand that two points and noticed it well that, those who are leading or ruling the world are just to fulfill what the Bible has already said. So to the best of my knowledge, it is God's word of the Bible that hold the world. And it is through the Bible we shall know those who are from God and the things that are good for God's people to follow, and the things that we must avoid ourselves from. So to me, the Bible is the Key of the entire world through God's Message.
This is something that only those who are truly walking in the light would be able to understand. It's so refreshing to know that as rare as true believers and followers of Yeshua the Messiah may be, we do exist! Whenever the darkness of the world starts to become overwhelming, God always shines a light of hope. Continue the faith brother and stay focused on this path that so few of us find.
