That pair of ferrule crimp pliers did the trick! I'll have to add a pair to the toolbox. Thanks Ape

I have fallen in love with breakout devices. They are real problem solvers.

Looks like a cool project. I like the way you make your cables. Great video Ape.

My first cable build was a massive fail. You've inspired me to give it another go!

Everyone’s first cable is a massive fail. I wired a car with every power pole backwards. Only one way to get better…. And I’m not even that good. I remember years ago when I became a ham, this guy was telling me he needed a crazy cable and then he said he made it, I didn’t even know such a thing was possible.

A good cheap fix Mr Ape. It looks like a factory job.👍

Did you explain what tip ring and sleeve's function is? Why are you connecting to the ring and not the tip? Granted I am only part way through the video but I that would help me understand that from the beginning. Thanks Ape. Great build. Just confusing.

Momma always said to keep a reasonably clean tip. I kept watching for a bubble in your mat.

A bigger plug will allow direct connection into the base of the skull with central nervous system continuity, thus allowing full connectivity with The Matrix. BYO liquid embryo bath water. Pods are not supplied.

As a component tester it's great but it's pretty limited as a scope.

I don't see a visible difference between the "red" and "black" wires. Is one side of the insulation ridged and the other not? If so is the ridged side positive/red and the smooth side negative/black?
Does it matter on which wire the capacitor is placed?
Really enjoy these short "how-to" videos. Thank you, Ape!

It's hard to see but the one wire has a thing light red line. The cap has to be on the signal wire / red. Thanks for watching John!

Why the cap on the signalling line? Wouldn't that block ac?
Thanks for the vids, they're really helping me learn my Tiny SA's feature set.

What are the materials that you used?

    • @TheSmokinApe

Just a 3.5mm TRS plug, a screw on BNC adapter and some 18awg copper wire.
