Pete Frates, the inspiration behind last year's Ice Bucket Challenge, reflects on the meaning of his first Father's Day as he continues to battle the effects of ALS.
This is so tragic. This man had so much damn potential, and still managed to make a gigantic mark regardless of having one of the most debilitating illnesses known to man. RIP to Pete.
Whether Pete lives to see a cure or not, his actions have already done so much in finding a cure for ALS. If it wasn't for him scientists would have never identified the genes that are responsible for ALS. I hope we find a cure soon for his sake, but if he dies with ALS, he should die knowing that he has made a huge impact on the world.
