CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT AFTER A STROKE, NEAR DEATH , HE GAVE HIS LIFE TO JESUS AND HAD ENOUGH VOICE TO PRAISE THE LORD. I HOPE THERE IS A PIANO IN HEAVEN SO JERRY LEE CAN PRAISE THE LORD.

Jerry has always been a Christian, sometime he drifted away but he never totally forgot. When God holds your hand he never let go of it.
He was actually called to preach, and knew it but didn’t feel worthy
.. and He has a very good patients.. 😁..
Tell that to the starving children all over the world.
There are many people who can give them some food but they don't. Now, who's to blame? 🤔

He had always seen the light, he had always had a love for gospel music. Just that he resisted the light for a time
Since I watch Jerry Lee on the Steve Allen show, I was pan instant fan. I'm now 80 yr. Old, and even a bigger fan. Thank you Jerry, for all the enjoyment of your piano, and singing, thank you God for bring him into our lives, and thank you Jesus for sacrificing yourself on the cross for us. Wow! Coincidence? Or God holding me in his hands? In the Garden is in my top five favorite gospel songs and one that I played at my mother's funeral in 2012. Just yesterday I attended the funeral of a very close friend and still emotional mourning her death. Then this notification pops up on my phone. Thank you Lord for comforting me when I most need it. Thank you Sonlife.
My mother sang In The Garden when I was a young child. It is one of my favorites too.

One of my Mothers favorite songs. I was blessed beyond measure to have a Mother that loved the teachings of Jesus Christ and did her best to live according to his teachings.
I never thought I'd see the day when Jerry Lee Lewis was singing gospel songs.

@@vincentl.9469 It was just a few months before he died. He couldn't use his right hand to play anymore. He's 87 here. Sings pretty good doesn't he?
@@BBJohnny52 yes, and it looks as if he may have suffered a stroke at some point
@@vincentl.9469 He did not too long after his 85 th birthday. I watched Jimmy Swaggart preach his funeral and he said Jerry Lee almost couldn't make it to this recording because he was so weak. Eventually he got pneumonia and that's what happened. It's sad. I saw him in concert before in the 90s. He could really play and sing that's for sure.

I know Jerry Lee Lewis has dabbled in gospel music from time to time, but trust me, it isn't necessary because the gates to heaven are wide open to him. Ol Jerry Lee ,for his condition at the time they recorded this, he don't sound bad at all, his distinct character voice was still in strong sound. I'm so glad Jimmy won him to thr Lord. As wild and as sideways as he always had gotten, when he needed a break from the world and the road, Jimmy always took him in and cared for him like a true brother, you can tell they loved each other very much.

I live for this music, Jimmy Swaggart plays it keeps me happy even when I’m sad going through surgery. I still can’t smile through it all I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, and I’ve learned to depend upon his word I know what faith in God can do. hallelujah to the Lamb of God.

These sessions will go down in history as Jerry Lee's last ever recordings, he sounds great and no doubt cut the tracks live as he always did, Elvis us The King but The Killer is The Greatest imo, it's unbelievable they both came put of that same little room at Sun in Memphis, lightning sure struck twice, Thanks for the Music you left for us fans.

It's so hard for me to see ppl get old. Especially those who were once so strong & vibrant and thriving in all of their prime, it saddens me, but I try to accept it's just the design of the plan and its just the way it goes. I'm also saddened by the passing and loss of all these iconic and legendary ppl lately, there seems to have been just so many this past decade that have left this world, specifically in the past few years alone. And their departures seem to be so close together also (probably bc they're ages are close together, but still!) They're ppl that most of us don't know personally but grew up seeing on TV or listening on the radio etc....they were just always there, & along with their passings it feels they're taking so much heart and wisdom & a different type of passion out of the world along with them. The older generations, celebs or not, just had/have so much more something that the new is lacking, and not just talent. It reminds me time waits for no one & that I'm getting older as well, something I don't like being reminded of lol
But What makes me happy is having the opportunity to know about who these ppl were and to grow up with them and their material, content, & influences in and on the world!😊
What makes me smile even more is hearing & knowing that Jerry Lee Lewis recorded these gospel songs and album before his passing, indicating he found his way back to the path to Heaven 🙏
First Mickey Gilley and now his iconic cousin Jerry Lee -the "KILLER", only Jimmy Swaggart remains of the three cousins, may God continue to Bless him. It made my heart smile to hear them record together these gospel songs and what is now some of Jerry Lee's last recordings. I will always admire his great talents and passions and laugh at the crazy shenanigans he pulled in his lifetime. I hope & believe that he found his way to "Redemption" as he titled his gospel album. May they all rest in peace 🙏✝️❤️
