    I'll never understand the point of these kind of videos, no one knows if the game is dying or not, its popularity is going great, its had great revenue lately, and anything about an "FGO 2" is pure speculation and doomposting. People will go "oh yeah some of my friends have left the game" and?? That doesn't say anything about the grand scope of things. Like, every video that talks about this topic would be summarized as "Is FGO dying? Who knows". Because that's the only answer we can properly convey. It's just clickbaiting and gets people scared for NO good reason, gotta do it when you need the views I guess

      FGO was number 1 on mobile revenue for Aug so its no where near needing a video like this.

    I’ll go with the obvious answer of no.
    Still adding features, still places for the story to go, and still bringing in money. They’ll take this as far as they can. Because something like fgo 2 would be hard to sell since there’s just no way they’d be porting accounts over.

    Everything you said is why I quit FGO this year, there's no hype servants in the future, no replayable content, events are boring, story is drip fed and other gacha games are straight up better.

    We need a UI overhaul, it’s clunky, not intuitive and dated. Significant changes can be made so we spend less time in menus and hitting confirm and more time playing the game itself.
    Ans yes,’we need some content between events. Story replay with optional hard mode. Random weekly quests/raids/story chapters with worth while rewards so theres a reason other than doors to login.

    fgo itself looks pretty old too. like you can tell it came out in like 6-8 years ago. i originally didnt play it because it looked so old but i just pulled through and now im enjoying the lostbelts. it still feels like content is given to us kinda slowly. not extremely just slightly. i wish NA wasnt 2 years behind. i wish it was AT LEAST 1 year behind. thats the only reason i played jp its because i wanna get all the new stuff and not wait 2 years for it

    As someone who just doesn't get the time to play more than maybe 30 or 45 minutes a day on most days, I fortunately haven't run out of things to do in FGO yet. Been playing for several years and I'm still in LB5 and I haven't finished any of the 1.5 arcs yet. I can totally understand how for someone who has way more time to invest, this game may get a bit boring, but there are people for whom the slower content drops kinda works. Hell, I'm lucky I have today off work, because I still need to wrap up the summer event.

    I rather not spend my entire day in FGO, I got other things to do. I already don't have enough time to farm the lotto since I don't use hacks like modifying the game.
    Also as someone who had whaled before, I appreciate the 2year foresight for banners and don't want to lose that. When you skipping banners f2p and others WILL drop the game.
    Finally, all you wanting pvp, me and many other dolphins will quit the game if they introduce pvp. The sole reason I been playing FGO still today IS because it is a rare single player game. The second pvp is introduced, all the dolphins and f2p will leave the game. PERIOD.

      The closest things to an actual PvP match this game has are the Grail Fronts and the Daybit's Angels boss fight in LB7.
      Tbh a Grail Front would be the only way you could introduce a PvP game mode that's even remotely fair into this game. Since everything is turn-based and there's a resource mechanic of sorts, there's much less likelihood of actual cheating going on.

  • @zs190
    @zs190 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Maybe because I'm an older player but I don't really feel like there is any problem with these so called dead weeks. I'm perfectly content to log in, collect log in bonus, and do a couple free quests and log out and do some other stuff when there is no event going on in FGO. I don't really feel like FGO as a game needs to fill up the entire schedule and always have a story/event going on, the game is meant to be played casually over a long period of time and that's what works for the player base and will likely continue to work so I don't think the game is dying. As long as they still put out interesting stories and make likable characters, the game will do fine.

    • @A_Liner
      @A_Liner ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, for story, you can take as much time you want in the game depending on your schedule.
      As for the events, they time gate so players can get off the game and wait for the next time gate.
      As for dead weeks, well, more time for players to do other stuffs irl. I mean, they will release other content anyway, so why not sit back and chill for a bit?
      Plus, FGO imo, a story focused game just like VNs.

    Taking into consideration FGO's age, I'm not sure it'd be able to stack up to the quality of most modern mobile games. But, two things they could do would be 1) cut AP costs for quests in half and 2) add all the past events to interludes (not just the story relevant ones). This would increase people's ability to spend time in game and allow newer players more options to catch up.

    They have a lot to work to catch up with their competitors. In my humble opinion, they need to prioritize the game UI and old servant animation updates...their animations are just a pain to watch and worst of all some of the old servants are popular character like Jeanne, Jeanne alter, Enkidu and so on. Rather than updating their animations, they created their new alternate version instead.... mostly Summer or Alter version.

    I think the issue is that there's a limit to how long a billion-dollar company could get away with blaming everything on staffing issues, and they've hit it. There's a growing realization/belief that the move from DW to Lasengle was just about giving Aniplex more control over how the revenue is split, and that FGO is a top-earning game that's only getting enough money reinvested into it to keep the lights on and the banners flowing.

    I'm down for an FGO 2. The game is kind of "solved" right now with how the loop meta works so it'd be nice to get a fresh and updated remix(and probably way easier to develop content for). I'd imagine alot of servants would get a rework too so it'd be a good opportunity to rebalance everything. Just let the players port over all or most of their stuff from vanilla and it's the ideal future all things considered.

    I am a little late on this video, but closing the two year gap to one year between NA and JP would be ideal, so it's not a long wait to obtain certain characters and participate in events (alleviate a few spoilers). Also, more content to actually use your servants not just farming. Finally, better gacha system. 330 pulls feel overkill for every frequent banner.
    I also want to say thanks for putting your perspective on the issue even though it was three months ago, because I think many players, including the devs don't realize that the game at it's core could be so much better in comparison to Dokkan, Star Rail, Arknights, etc. in order make its reputation well-deserved.

    • @astarothofhell4341
      @astarothofhell4341 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

  • @sonokawaray
    @sonokawaray ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Perhaps shows how few other gachas I play, but now that you mention it I'm surprised FGO doesn't have something like, say, Genshin where you can assign units to go out and farm certain materials for x number of hours. That kind of passive progress to further motivate people to come back to the game regularly would be nice.
    FGO can likely continue to print money for years, so I doubt lack of profits will be what ends it. Rather, I predict it will just get to a point with its age and coding that it will just be easier for Lasengle to start fresh with a new game rather than continue to tack things onto a decade-old creation. Guess you can count me in the camp that would be cool with them wrapping up the Lostbelt story, then starting work on a sequel that brings everything up to modern gacha standards. Some way to transfer my grailed bond 10+ waifus over would be nice of course, assuming they can be extracted from the previous plate of spaghetti.

    In an ideal world they would release a new Fate gacha game that would run along side FGO and whenever FGO's story finally ends they would just let it fizzle out and maybe finally end service when either everybody has moved to the new game or justs topped playing (this could easily take 3+ years).
    Just suddenly announcing FGO2 / ending service / forcing people to migrate would anger and alienate way too many people.

    I think they could do small stuff easily. Like more costumes would be amazing since they go out of their way to hire all the different artists to design the servants to begin with. Have slow weeks with challenge quests to collect outfits just as something to tie players over. That's one idea that's small but easy for them to implement since there's not much needed to do it.
    Something else could be hiring some of these artists/mangakas to just make some simple minor 'events' that don't really impact the overall story. Sorta like interludes but just general stories with fan favorites interacting.

    Otherwise, I'm relatively fine with having a slow week here or there but I'd still like to have something to log in for other than not breaking my streak.

More farming nodes, increase the AP count, actually have weekly mini challenges the players can do to get materials without having to burn through so much AP just to get a demon heart for a servant. Things like that will vastly improve FGO in general. I mean, we are still stuck waiting for the mighty brave chain QoL when it should’ve been in the game the moment they introduced it to JP. Why make what could potentially be your biggest market outside of Japan wait for something that can make playing the game easier?

    FGO isn’t slowing down. It’s the same pace it always has been in the 6+ years I’ve played. If you’d rather go play other games then please do because I’m sick of seeing these brain dead discussions online about how it should “speed up”. I play FGO and one other Gacha game and I feel like I barely have time to get those done every day between playing big console games. If you’re sitting around expecting FGO to become a mono-game for people where it takes up half of your day every single day then the problem is you. Yes there are things that could be improved, and they probably will over time, but FGO has survived as a top mobile game for a reason and expecting it to copy other games is a recipe for disaster. Again, if you like other games more then go play those other games. If you only want servants who are “meta” and some of them aren’t then go find a game where you can minmax to your hearts content. Play Diablo or something and see how fast you get bored of “make number go big”.

    There’s no incentive these days to log into NA except to keep the streak alive. That’s beyond bad when you have examples of other games still going strong with different things you can do outside of just story and mundane farming. And even the story is chalked in NA. How the hell you have your JP side two years ahead of everyone else and expect the global market to not get annoyed or vocal?
    Especially with any QoL improvements. This is another major gripe with me. JP gets these small QoL improvements and the NA has to wait for 2 years to get that?? Especially when we hear how much better it is? Cmon man, that’s just bad business practice! Hell, Star Rail recently did a small QoL by raising the equivalent of AP for FGO and no one had to wait. The whole damn world got the same QoL at the same time. Azur Lane’s QoL is another that keeps getting updated to make things easier and no one has to wait! What’s with the devs for FGO thinking that waiting for 2 years is good practice? Shit is annoying and they wonder why they only get a few spikes of downloads or money every so often when they drop a servant or something.
    They gotta wise up if they want to keep going. They can only use the Fate name for so long before the player base just says “I’m done”

      Old comment, but I want to respond. The only reason I play FGO at all is for the story. Since I don't know Japanese, I won't enjoy JP. Just getting Servants and missing context isn't good. The only reason I end up wanting characters is because of how they are in the story. Even the Events can be good with that. Not being able to read it would be a massive turn off.

    I don't think it's dying, since Fate is too massive for that to happen, but it's the type of game that doesn't exist most of the time, excluding daily login. We're rarely getting anything despite how much revenue the game is generating while also being pretty cheap in comparison to the other heavy hitters of the market like Genshin and HSR. We get no animation updates for some reason, even when many fan favourite servants have outdated animations (hi, Jeannes, Oz, Enkidu). We're rarely getting costumes when there's already so much they could add, like the outfits from CEs and some that were introduced in the game but never implemented for some stupid reason, like Summer Kama with blue skin and dress. Not even talking how bad the balancing is. To this day devs couldn't figure out the way to make Quick perform on par with Arts and Buster, and powercreep is going strong, too. Summer Skadi kinda showed how "creative" they are when it comes to it.

    Personally I think they should do the dokkan version 2 update where a ton of qol updates happened in one massive update. Also they need to streamline a lot of the systems in this game since it's just not beginner friendly or even casual friendly. You can't do a majority of farming without skadi or castoria since a lot of units rely to much on their support. Same thing with buster farming since koyan light and oberon are mandatory to run. It's a pretty scummy tactic since they're forcing you to drain your SQ if you don't have any of these units, the only saving grace pretty much was waver since he's a universal support. Also they should just catch up both the servers since it's more beneficial in the long run problem is how they would handle events and welfare servant releases.

They have the money to do it, its just a question if they wanna invest that much or take the gamble on dropping FGO

      I feel like it would be a pretty good strategy to rebuild the game because let's be honest, FGO is a bad game when compared to modern gacha's, it would be a pretty good choice to modernize the game to allow for bigger and better updates to ensure people will still be interested for the next few years. It can also bring old players that quit back if they show that they care about the game again.
      The bigger problem with FGO is that the game doesn't really get new players as everyone who knows FGO ends up not recommending it due to it being outdated in many aspects. A new version could change that fact if they do it well.

    [(This is a long one, sorry in advance)]
    I would totally be okay with something like a action rpg that can go up to a 4 player co-op. Ditch the gatcha and go all cosmetics, or give us the ability to outright buy a character.
    I don't want something like Genshin, where you just hit on button over and over again, but have move sets. The thing is though, they will probably want to keep it on mobile as well, and mobile games TEND to have very simple mechanics. FGO is still up there with the Hoyo gamesa while only being on mobile, if they were to "officially" release on PC and consoles, their revenue would get a sizeable boost. FGO's sequel HAS to do this.
    But here's my dream, like imagine each singularity is it's own world, and you can run around and do things there. Have a hub where you can interact with your servants. Like have some features that the Extella games has. The story can be like "timelines converge and the player MCs all end up in the same timeline" giving an opportunity to have multiplayer and be bit more social.
    They can monotize it like Warframe, or like Dota where cosmetics are separated by body parts. Servants can be bought individually or say like a "singularity/lost belt bundle".
    As for FGO now, all I would want is something of a "sweep" feature that other games have. Like I played some of Blue Archive for a bit and you were able to just auto sweep farm stages that you 3 star. I would be so freakin happy if FGO did this. Like give us challenges to complete in order to be able to do a sweep of the stage to save time, such as "complete in a certain amount of turns", "Inflict a certain amount of debuffs on an enemy", "Do a certain amount of damage". My biggest problem with FGO right now is how much time I need to keep up with it. Story bits can be 15min+ reads at times, and then it is just doing the same mission over and over and over again. Fate is one of my favorite franchises out there but my fanboyism can't fuel my drive for it like it used to, and I will be real with you, I haven't actually read since the 1st Lostbelt and I tend to procrastinate events until the last day or so.
    I love the story so much but having to sacrifice reading the story/events just so I can have time to farm a mission 100x times just so I can get the event servant has taken it's toll on my enjoyment for me. A full time job along with trying to survive as an adult isn't easy.

    Only play NA casually so not sure how JP is going. I would love for them to add a auto clear option for farming and events. It would be great to have an event where we use our servant in a different way that isn't combat. For me there is enough content in the game but I play a number of other games and can't commit more time.
