I find it funny that they say that Gadget's niece is doing everything on her own, when in fact its both her and the dog Brain who do all the work for Gadget. People don't give Brain enough credit it seems.
SERIOUSLY? So you mean to tell me that an aardvark, from some cartoon about raccoons that I've never even heard of makes the list...but Mumm-Ra, the Ever Living only gets an honorable mention??? He was one of the most terrifying cartoon villains of all time, from one of the most popular cartoons of the 80's! Very upsetting, Watchmojo.
Watch Mojo is based in and is staffed by Canadians. Which explains why The Racoons is even on the list. The Racoons was a hit in Canada. Everywhere else it was at the bottom of the barrel.
That is what I'm saying. Mum-Ra was, no is one of the best villains ever. Creating Pum-Ra having Excalibur fight the sword of Omens, making the mutants his servants. He was the best and to only get an honorable mention is horrible.

Later on, he was most famously voiced by veteran voice actor Jim Cummings, among others. 3) Cobra Commander was voiced by Chris Collins, also best known for voicing Starscream among other characters in the original Transformers cartoon. 4) Skeletor was voiced in the original He-Man cartoon by Alan Oppenheimer, who had numerous voice roles in the 1980s Transformers cartoon and also voiced Merlin in The Legend of Prince Valiant. "Skeletor" was also the nickname of Detective (later Sergeant) John Munch on Law & Order: SVU. 5) Gargamel was voiced by veteran actor Paul Winchell, who was the original voice of Tigger in the Winnie the Pooh franchise. He also had medical training and is credited for creating a mechanical artificial heart. Hank Azaria (of The Simpsons fame) portrayed Gargamel in the live-action Smurfs film.

In fact its hard to tell who should be number 1 between him and Megatron but probably the latter because he did get to kill his enemies and Mum-ra never killed anybody unless you count when he pierced the eye of Thundera with Excalibur although I cant tell if he really killed the Thundercats with that.
Damn. Mummra enslaves a whole species of whatever Snarf was, and only gets an honorable mention? The Ever Living should have made the list. Now... Monstar from Silver Hawks, that's an honorable mention.
I'm just gonna say, Cy-Kill from Challenge of the Gobots should have at least gotten an honourable mention. Yes Gobots wasn't as good as Transformers, but there were some things that they did better. And people have gone on to say that Cy-Kill did come of as a more competent leader than Megatron in some episodes. Another 80s villain that comes to mind is Texas Pete from Superted, and also Venger from DnD.
*Only the Transformers have the right to be called by the name!!* Although I also remember Venger. Voiced by Peter Cullen, master of dark magic, with a projectile sphere attack that sounded like Megatron's fusion cannon being fired.
I always thought Venger's magic was called Mystic Energy Blasts but they did sound like Megatron's Fusion Cannon with subtle differences. Venger's blasts had a hum to it.

Yes, Darkstorm from the Visionaries and Miles Mayhem from M.A.S.K. - two 80s villains not included (although there'd be clips of Darkstorm not wearing his helmet, let alone Miles Mayhem not wearing his Viper mask), although I've never seen either of those villains to show any redemptions (I'm aware Cindarr, one of the Darkling Lords, is virtually the only Darkling Lord ever to show niceness, but I heavily doubt Miles Mayhem ever once showed signs of niceness).

@@RokuroCarisu Considering the shade of blue Miles Mayhem & Cobra Commander look very much the same. but they have mask special powers, and strike vehicles that can change forms. I dont remember seeing such in G.I.Joe

I'm not saying that Flint and Cyrus are not good villains, but they should be in the honorable mentions section, not the ones who were bent on controlling the world for their own purposes or plunging it into chaos and darkness.
I think Skeletor is the most fitting main antagonist of the 80s. In other cartoons you could change who the main villain was, but in He-man & TMOTU's case, here is a villain with a skull face, whose primary goal is to obtain the secrets of a castle with a skull face. If a person met Skeletor for the first time, then later came upon Castle Grayskull for the first time they likely might assume that the castle belongs to Skeletor. WatchMojo, you're wrong there is nothing cheesy about having a literal skeleton as the main antagonist.

I'm all for Megatron being on the list (he definitely deserves it). But I'm disapointed that someone else from Hasbro who gave Megattron a run for his money wasn't mentioned. Lord Tirek from My Little Pony: Rescue at Midnight Castle. One off though he was, seeing as the show was aimed at little girls, and all the evil he did, he deserves more love.
Tex Hex from BraveStarr, Saw Boss from Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors and Mumm-Ra (NOT as an honorable mention. He was too basass) from Thundercats I am missing in this list.
These vilains were overlooked. See if you can name the shows. PINKY & BRAIN. CY-KILL. DARKSEID. DON CARNAGE. LEX LUTHOR. MON-STAR. MR BURNS. MUMRA. VENGER. ZARKAN. ZOLTAR.
Meh. 1. Skeletor 2. Cobra Commander 3. Mumm-ra 4. Megatron List is "Best" villain, not most successful. To me, best means most entertaining, hitting all the amusing villainy tropes. Overall, Megatron, while badass, is a pretty dull-to-watch guy.
Oh really? How many times has Skeletor killed He-Man and scar a generation of kids? Oh right never. Megatron achieved that which the others never achieved in the 80s.
@@PrinceTrunks26 If you were "scarred," you were never an '80s kid. Haha. Megatron was boring and his schemes were dull. Your argument is akin to wrestlers. You can argue your choice is the "best" wrestler because he had the belt the most, despite being overrated trash who sucks on the mic and can't do basic things like a body slam for shit. He's boooring, which is why almost every episode doesn't give him much airtime as say a GI Joe episode gave CC or Thundercats episode followed Mumm-ra around, they're entertaining to watch.
And if we're being completely honest in judging "successful villainy," having watched all generations of animated series for Transformers, GI Joe, He-man, and Thundercats (as well as some others on this list), I think you'd be very hard-pressed to conclude that any of these villains have been more successful than Cobra Commander. Only Cobra through Cobra Commander's schemes has achieved worldwide success in some form repeated times and done things like utterly destroyed entire cities, permanently affected the world, killed off most of an entire generation off their opponents, and succeeded in discrediting their opposition. Nothing the Decepticons, Skeletor's crew, Mumm-ra, etc even comes close to that amount of "success" honestly.
How was mumm-ra an honorable mention? He could've destroyed everyone else on this list one at a time, also talking about Thundercats villains, I think mongor was the best.

Lord Tirek from My Little Pony: Rescue at Midnight Castle. One off though he was, seeing as the show was aimed at little girls, and all the evil he did, he deserves more love.
Mumm-Ra should've been top 3
Don't forget Devious Diesel.
Mumm-Ra the Ever Living should have been on here!
0:33-0:43 so that explains why mr. burns was on the 90s list. side note the background music is amazing
Tex Hex from BraveStarr, Saw Boss from Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors and Mumm-Ra (NOT as an honorable mention. He was too basass) from Thundercats I am missing in this list.
I love Your Video Making Style....

1. Skeletor
2. Cobra Commander
3. Mumm-ra
4. Megatron
List is "Best" villain, not most successful.
I stopped at Skeletor No2! He is the king of 80s villains, and what about Mum-Ra?!
How was mumm-ra an honorable mention? He could've destroyed everyone else on this list one at a time, also talking about Thundercats villains, I think mongor was the best.
I watched all of these!! My childhood was awesome and man, did I watch a lot of tv!!
Frank Welker, baby!!!!!
JonnySuite13 You got that damn straight, pal! Frank Welker is the most talented voice-over actor ever! He's the highest grossing actor of all time! Welker is more talented than anyone in Hollywood!
Frank Welker superior
Cobra Commander fascinated me so much as a kid!
definitely one of the all time greats villan
Let us not forget, the Changing Forms Of Sawboss.
Saw Boss was really creepy when I was younger. Mon Star was too.
i always forget that Ducktales, Inspector Gadget and Teeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were from the 80's.. since I watched them while growing up in the 90's
