Dude add me as a friend on steam. I'm getting blasted in this game but your videos saved my first game. It'd loaded because I farmed slave ships, they were all I could beat until I watched most your videos. Owe you big bro

I had fun using him as a Rogue/Wizard, using the best staff I could find (set defensive or offensive depending on situation).

Interesting build, some really valid points. I always pick mage/rogue and go either the arcana scaling arbalest + self buffs + rogue attacks turning him into a sniper build, or cast the minor blights weapon spell, which causes all rogue abilities to be AoE (AoE gouge with the bleed is really devastating)

Aloth didn't come with a scepter on my playthrough. I think it depends on your character creation and PoE1 history. In my game, Aloth came with Thaos' head dress

Is essential phantom good in this build? I'm currently am using Disciplined strikes, fighter stance, penetrating strike, confident aim, merciless gaze, and use double scepter. I also have a cypher/priest in my party that I use as a buffer. Usually casting holy power, and dire blessing early. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if all these self buffs and priest buffs make the phantom really good.
Edit: Also noticed you have one handed style for the increased crit. Am I better off going one handed instead of dual wielding scepters?

I love POE2, but sadly I just got the dlc and now my computer struggles to run it anymore. Wanted to do a Monk playthrough for my 2nd time and 1st time doing DLC.

im having trouble deciding what to do with eder when im running a fighter/cypher build... should he be a pure fighter? i usually go fighter/rogue with him but he doesnt seem to fit, I think i need a tank.. any suggestions?

Multiclass will give him more damage. All tanky abilities he needs he will get before level 8.
Frankly, PoE2 gets easy very fast, I'm not even half through the main story and I've already reached level cap. On maximum difficulty (without iron man, though)
At this point Eder doesn't even need a shield and heavy armor in most fights. And frankly, all companions suck gameplaywise.

Tone32616 if the game is easy, does it even matter if they suck?

    • @Tone32616

@@darencolby1916it does either if you want to beat elite DLC bosses or aren't going to do a lot of sidequests (which would take a lot of time considering huge loading time)

    • @darencolby1916

Tone32616 But side quests are like, the cornerstone of RPGs like this. If you aren’t doing side quests, you aren’t even really playing the game. Not to mention the companion storylines and what they have to say are part of the experience, and they aren’t meant to be min-maxed anyway. I understand people play for different reasons but it’s odd to hear someone say the game is too easy but also claim the companions suck.
Playing with them not only enhances the games difficulty, but also the overall narrative. So isn’t it a win-win?

Er, was there a POE2 update I'm not aware of? Wasn't this channel done with poe2 like a year ago, posting all those turn-based builds in the following month?

If you plan to use aloth for your party be prepared to miss all your attacks.
