DAF was and is a Dutch truck builder, the DAF YP408 was a Dutch design for the Dutch Army! The Belgian army never had the YP408. A few went to South Africa.
It was a very advanced design for the time. It should have had 8x8 drive, NBC protection, and it would have been, modernised, a good choice in the present.😊
loved that thing with all it's nits and bits, and as said the belgium army never ever had them. there where 12 on board including driver and ,50 BMG gunner. we had also a TOW, ambulance and mortar version

Are you quite certain? If the first axle would not have had drive, you might be right . Now you are wrong. The H-drive was able to drag and push the vehicle quite nicely. Just like the YA328 and the YA126.

its evel,the second wheel in the front is not driven by een axle,so in terrain its horrible,works like a dozer
