- Here we drive and review the 2014 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI. The powertrain consists of a 2 liter turbo diesel 4 cylinder mated to a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission making 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque.
Standard features of this Jetta Sportwagen include a backup camera, cruise control, and 6 way adjustable driver and passenger seats. Additional features include Bluetooth audio and satellite radio.

The car is still doing excellent! We drive it from Home ( York, SC ) to Bryson City, NC / Pigeon Forge, TN and to Winston - Salem often. It gets excellent milage, Avg 48 - 56 mpg! I can drive To - From Work, York - Charlotte and fill up once every 2 weeks! Excellent Vehicle and highly recommend this TDI Model! Oh BTW you forgot to demo the 110 V outlet in the back below the air vents.
I own a gasoline powered VW Jetta Sportswagen and a TDI. So far, they have both been good reliable cars! The gasoline powered Jetta has gotten close to 40 mpg on the highway. The TDI sometimes gets over 40 on the highway and 30 plus city, if you don’t have a heavy foot!!!
Love my car! (The car being reviewed). Perfect for my lifestyle (camping, outdoor, with a dog). And the gas mileage is so great.
I have this same car, although mine has the upgraded 17” wheels and the pano roof and NAV system.

Update: car is doing well and had the timing belt done. These cars do have timing belts, and an interference engine. Recommended is every 80,000 miles. It was way overdue. We’re loving it! ❤️❤️❤️

FWIW the recommended service interval on the timing belt for the 2014 TDI is 130K I think. Never hurts to be safe though.

@@sbranson12to do mine from a shop it cost 1700. They do the belt and the water pump
How do you like the transmission? I have a 10’ Jetta sedan TDI and in normal D while downshifting the car makes clicking noises from 3rd to 1st gear. In sport it does not.
We closed the Deal yesterday, found it online with Lake Norman Hyundai in Cornelius (close to Charlotte) They shipped it from Murfreesboro Chevrolet to Lake Norman Hyundai. We have a identical 2013 Jetta Sportswagen TDI bought from Ole Ben Franklin Motors in Knoxville 3 yrs ago! Absolutely a awesome car and they look great in our Driveway. He did a excellent job reviewing this car, but he left out the 115v house outlet in the back.

Ok I’d say stay away from anything Volkswagen, BUT since this has the turbo Diesel engine, I’d say get it because those Diesel engines are strong. Unlike turbo gas engines, vw made strong diesel ones that last a long time
I have to say this is the best car I have ever driven hands down! We have a 2013 one just like this, and we’re getting this one in the video. So we’ll have 2! We’re beyond excited!
I love mine, and the engine is probably strong, but it's pretty fragile and expensive to repair in other parts of the system - HPFP, particulate filter etc. So it goes.
