Ok I'm buying both. Your technique is perfect, so jealous. Just started with the feather kamisori, coming from Futur DE shaving for 10 years. I'm a newbie but can't believe I didn't make the jump earlier, it's amazing.

After my comparison test, I decided on the Feather. For me it's closer to an all-steel razor.

Not so surprising that it's another level of refinement and it's a beauty. Feel free to send your pot-bellied, double-bellied, unused straights to me for proper disposal!
What surprises me is that the same blade produces different results.

Haha Nope, the str8's will be used. I think the difference is due to the blade head itself with the feather not being quite so shallow and the width of the shave head as well. Thanks
Just discovered the video. Appreciate your insights on the two razors. One day I will have to look into the Tedalus, currently out of stock… but will soon be purchasing my first shavette. I have been using a DE for many years. I thought about a straight, but not sure about the upkeep.. hence the shavette. Will be getting the Feather DX. Is there any difference between the two styles? Would one be easier to learn..? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
@@svtkmo the SS version is more like a de razor and the DX more approximates a straight razor. The SS is easier to learn with but the DX will be your go to until you get. Tedalus. Good luck on the journey and reach out if you need assistance
Great shave. I think for a true comparison you have to use the Dx folding. There is a difference. It’s not just about the head.

As I mentioned I have two of the DX razors for folders and I use those in the shop so I have plenty of experience with those in the essence is still much better razor
Dave, have you had the chance to try the Feather SR razors yet? I think they are fairly new to the market.
I have not, it does not look much different than the DX, other than the Sandblasted finish, The head looks a bit different like a SS/DX hybrid, Thanks for watching

Well, the Chi captain is very similar to the feather DX I’ve never shaved with one however, my assumption is that it would be very similar to the comparison to the feather and as I said, I’m a straight razor user, and I’ve never found a shavette The Shaves is close to a straight razor as the Tedalus.
