I have just stumbled on this, thank you so much for reviewing my Old Ways deck, especially as it was beside Hannah and Danielle, who are my fav artists and witches. Danielle also lives on Dartmoor as I do. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to discover your channel. Fantastic and very wise interpretation of Oracles. Thank you for your efforts 💚🙏😊💚
Thank you so much for such a lovely review of my deck, you totally got it! I wanted it to be a safe place for refuge and reflection in a dangerous world x
Love all the decks you were showing. They are all so beautiful. But the Folktails Oracle made me cry. The paintings and the words in the guidebook spoke to my soul. Thank you so much for this video!// Love and light from Sweden 🙏✨💖
Thank you for this. The Green Wheel Oracle resonates the most. I love much about the Oldways Deck, except for the human representations - mostly very young and idealized in terms of beauty. Although I saw one marvelous elder! As an aging woman who has always struggled with beauty issues, these cards feel unhealthy for young and old alike. I love it when the human representation is more abstract or absent altogether.
I’m a beginner with tarot/oracle and although I’ve always felt such a strong connection and have tried opening my third eye years ago and learning, I never fully allowed myself to really dive deep and experience the magic until recently. As someone starting out, I am trying to not be overwhelmed which is why I waited so long, I guess I was intimidated and didn’t know where or even how to start. There’s so much that I feel so drawn to, tarot, oracle, astrology, crystals, chakras, sigils, shadow work, past life, moon & sun, ancestry, and so I’m trying to not think in terms of everything as a whole, but rather just experience and learn as I go and to pick one thing at a time to learn and grow familiar with. Oracle guidance so far as really been so enriching, enlightening and spot on. I’m not doing spreads yet, just sticking to 1-3 card pulls at max and journaling. I think with tarot, I’m putting unneeded emphasis on needing to learn every card both upright & reversed before I can really pull cards and I know that’s not needed at all, but for whatever reason I think I still feel a bit intimidated and putting too much pressure. I have only RWS decks and haven’t tried Thoth but I’m very open. What did you do when you started tarot? One card pulls? Did you take time to study a card or two a day (that’s what I’ve been doing) and what spread(s) would you recommend that may guide me as a beginner? I’m a new sub so I apologize if you’ve made videos about this I just haven’t gotten to them yet.) Also, these decks are absolutely gorgeous. I adore the art style of the green wheel oracle. Stunning beyond words.
I journaled a card a day. I first looked at the card and journaled my thoughts. Then I read the meaning from the book and journaled a quick synopsis. I then journaled my personal thoughts, putting together my above entries into something that felt meaningful. Don't wait to start reading. Your subconscious will speak. Where you start is not where you end. Your knowledge will grow and change. Be kind to yourself and enjoy this adventure! You sound like you are in a wonderful place!
You are both involved with Druidry? I'm delighted that I came upon these comments because so am I! April, I started out watching a number of people in this area but eventually settled on watching you only because I feel such alignment. Now I know (at least part of) why!
I adore Naomi Cornock’s work. Seeing that the Euro is slightly below the US dollar at this moment, this may be a good time to purchase decks in Europe give or take shipping fees. April.. I forgot I have a 10£ bill that I could have given you to purchase something for me during your travels! Cie Le Vie..
The Green Wheel oracle cards are beautiful. Very springy and summery. Thanks for sharing! I'm enjoying your videos so much. They're helping me discover cards I might not have found on my own.
@@TarotandWitchery I'm curious, do you happen to know of any U.S. vendors that are selling the Old Ways Magick oracle deck? I've only come across international.
@@TarotandWitchery I only just found it from your video!!!! Fingers crossed I manage to find a copy. Thank you. It’s growing out, not sure if I want to keep in short or not. ❤️
@@TarotandWitchery mostly for magical purposes but open to other ideas as well! I just feel like sometimes when I don’t feel like doing a reading, I still want to interact with my cards in other ways so they’re not just sitting on the bookshelf collecting dust 😂
Wow! What a great review. I just happened upon this video and am blown away. I usually am more drawn to the dark decks and not so much with the animals in them but this just changed my perspective. I love all three decks. The artwork, the simplicity in the messages just everything about them. Never heard of any of them before, but now I’m so intrigued I may have to add one if not all to my collection and get rid of a few that I currently own. I felt the joy and respect you have for each artist and deck. Well done!
Ohhh The Old Ways is my favorite among the ones you showed....the cards are beautiful and powerful. I appreciate there are people in the cards, sometimes (not always, but sometimes) I have trouble connecting with decks with no people in them. I've been studying Oracle cards and experimenting with incorporating them in my Tarot readings so this is wonderful, thanks!!
I have really expanded into non people decks this year. It seems to be a season I am in. I never connected with animal decks until now. The Old Ways Magick Oracle is so intense. It's a one card at a time deck for me!
Write your own index. On a slip of paper, write what the card is (either fox, rabbit, owl etc or peace, transformation, etc) and next to it what page number it is. Then keep it in the front of the book.
I was thinking the whole time "I love how deep this is" and I love that that's what you just said at the end! Deeper in your practice. P.s the decks seem so amazing!
I'm so excited you read the booklet meaning of the Epona card! Epona is the primary deity I venerate!! 💖💖💖 I so rarely see/hear anything about Her. This made my day! 🥰 I definitely vote for rounding the squared corners. Makes decks so much easier to work with. You could use a small corner rounder to make sure you don't take anything away from the artwork.
@@TarotandWitchery I have loved horses all my life. I took riding lessons and worked at a barn for 10 years when I was younger. So when I first started exploring Paganism, Epona was the first Goddess that showed Herself to me. She was the first Goddess I felt comfortable working with after leaving the patriarchy of Christianity. I have Spanish and French in my lineage on my mother's side and I'm drawn to Ancient Rome and Ancient Gaul. So I learned about Epona and it really made sense that I was drawn to Her. But I so rarely see stuff about Her. I see stuff about her Celtic counterpart Rhiannon much more often. So I was super excited about the Epona card in this video. 😊💖
@@thrivingselfcarerenee Have you read The Horse Goddess by Morgan Llywelyn? It is about Epona, but treats her as more human than divine. Some readers found that off-putting, but I loved the book. Llywelyn is one of my favorite authors. While I'm at it I will also recommend her Elementals. It is quite mysterious.
