"I love you too" immediately after meeting her. Got to love folk tales.

Love was a very different concept altogether then. In today's vernacular that might translate into something like, "You're pretty and young and clearly of high birth and refined so I can totally do with a wife like you to birth my heir and make other nobles totally envious of me." Which to be fair, Riannon was pretty enchanting.

Ver nice reading, thank you the narrator. The whole Mabinogion read by David Reid would be excellent.

I'm pleased that you enjoyed the First Book of the Mabinogion . I have recorded all four Books if you'd like to further explore my TH-cam Chanel......I hope you are able to enjoy the other Books ?

The incorrect probounounciation of Pwyll is not Pwll. "Pwll" has a completely different meaning!!!!!

@@julieashton9427 to be fair, his pronunciation is miles better than most on TH-cam, but I understand how it can grate. But full credit to him for getting the Mabinogion to a wider audience.

How do you get Pwl'll from Pwyll?

I wish that Pwyll and the other Welsh names could have been pronounced correctly. It would have improved the storytelling.

@RoachDoggJr how dose anyone get anything from English spelling with all these silent letters and words that don't look anything like they sound. At least with Welsh every single word out there is spelled exactly how it sounds. The only part that can be consiy difficult is pronouncing the words. But that's Evan that difficult. U can pronounce alot if the Welsh letters and not Evan notice u can do it. In reality it's very simple and straight farwo compared to alot of other languages like English

Great voice, really enjoyed, just a shame you changed the names and places, is there a reason for this? Pwyll, Arawn, Annwn
Would be nice to hear it with the original names

THat's a bit harsh on someone who grew up in Pembrokeshire without Welsh being taught in school(s)

Pwyll is pronounced "Pwythh" with a stronger emphasis on the H and the L is barely if at all annunciated. Same with Glyn Cuch, "Keethh". Nobody expects you to speak the language like a pro, but at least try with the proper nouns.

How can you say that Pwyll is pronounced 'Pwythh'? There's no 'th' sound in the word at all. It's uniquely Welsh (and I suspect you're not) and is an aspirated 'L'.
David Reid gets it almost right. He just needs the 'wy' to be sounded (a very short 'oowee' sound).
Same with Cuch -- no 'th' sound at all. Pronounced like the 'ch' in the Scottish 'loch'.
You could at least try with the proper nouns yourself...
