We all want to achieve success in life but seldom do we realize that really successful people hold experiences beyond the mental realms of normal people. It is said that it is not our qualification but the exposure that we have, the stories that we have heard, or the experiences that we have had in our lives that truly shape ourselves, and change our lives to who we are.
We're often wondering, what's the one work I want to do for the rest of my life. Stories are often a fascinating teacher for that. For Rajan, these series of stories started when he moved to a big town from a small town and was exposed to aspirational career options like IIT, IPS, and MBA. Having cracked some of the world's toughest exams, served the country as an IPS Officer after clearing the UPSC CSE exam, he was always intrigued to make a bigger impact. He reveals the best piece of career advice and shares instances from his life, helpful in choosing a successful career and how to be successful.
Watch IPS Rajan's inspirational journey, as he unveils his quest to find the right direction towards success, and what made him move ahead of his prestigious IPS Officer job to make an impact on the lives of millions.
IPS Rajan Singh is the Founder and CEO of Concept Owl, where he helps people change their lives through their Learning Accelerator Bootcamps and other habit-building programs.

Question is, are you happy now? After a PhD from Germany, I am currently scientist in Sweden. I used to motivate younger people to study hard and do PhD etc. But recently I stopped doing that. Why? I realized happiness in life does not depend on your career success. Whatever you do, normally you get compared to people around you. Like in science world, I am still just a small scientist. If I had not studied at all and stayed in my village doing farming, fellow farmers could be my friends and I think I could have a happier and simpler life. Conclusion: Only thing which brings a true happiness is when you do something for others. What you do for your career is your personal business. Dr. Sumit Deswal
So dont you have friends now...
Listen to Acharya Prashant Ji find peace
Giving is Living
Had been you farmers , fellow farmers would have been rivals with you , and half of your land could have been encroached , you never knew farmers
@@kalpitglobal9117 Its not about having friends or not. Depending on your situation/career level etc, your surrounding (friend circle/colleagues) are different. You always get compared to your surrounding, also you start feeling need to compete with others (e.g. if all my friends have a nice car, I will be under pressure to buy one). So point is, independent of your career achievements, there is always pressure to do more. There is no end. End to this rat race comes only when you decide you are not going to care anymore.

Summary:
The speaker is a Ex-IPS officer Rajan sing.
Short story:
He first studied hard and get into IIT, after 4 years of IIT he disliked corporate job and studied hard for civils and became IPS after some years of experience he got bored and disliked the job and quitted and again joined MBA at 30 and completed and did jobs in business sector and here also he didn't liked and he thought this is not suitable for him and finally became entrepreneur by providing high class education for rural students.
Moral of the talk:
1.It's ok to leave what you don't like and find what you enjoy and do it at any age and circumstances. You have to feel happy when look back from 60 or 70's age.
2.Try hard, be patient, push yourself, you will definitely achieve what you want.
Sometimes you may fail but you have keep trying definitely you will achieve it irrespective of the age. Until you quits yourself ther is a chance to succed in life till death and you definitely succed if you give your 100%.
Long story:
He is a introvert in the childhood, and he don't wont to talk people and even don't want play with friends. His father was a officer, and he generally get transfers.
In childhood he lives in a small town and then his father got transferred to another big city Ahmedabad, he got to know about IITs there and he dreamt of getting admission there and studied really hard and finally he managed to get admission in IIT kanpur and 4 years passed and completed his graduation, he didn't liked the normal corporate jobs, he wanted something challenging and find about Civil services. He started preparing for civils.
He believes one thing that hardwork pays off, as he was already slogged to into IIT, in the same way slogged and in return he became IPS officers.
Initially that service was new and challenging and as years passed on he was bored with repetitive job style, when he was 60 or 70 he didn't want to feel regret when he look back and after several deliberations and against all advises he quitted the job.
He haunted for what he likes and he finally want to do MBA and he worked hard ko clear exams and managed to get into best MBA university at the age of 30 and after two years of completion of MBA he did jobs but he didn't liked that field also, and he quitted and finally became an entrepreneur by creating a platform to provide high quality education to rural students.
Why he choose do do this because if he didn't went to Ahmedabad, then he continues to study in small town and he would never went to IIT even having talent.
He considered this point and thought about it that there are several talented students in rural ares, because they don't have oppurtunities they are not leading a good life, so he currently providing high class education for them and making their future bright.
The story ends here.
Hats off

The whole talk is about, perception of life 'on one's take'. And he has accomplished quite everything he had aimed & aced it. The irony that I saw through all the conversations about which career is better, using his IPS (ex-IPS) tag to work his favor,.. and many. Doesn't prove a point.
What he simply states is " Follow your heart & what u are passionate about".
Don't live for the sake of 'what society might say '..
"Life is once we live "..... Mr. Rajan has quoted this line everywhere he spoke.
And continues......
We need not take life for granted, to prove others that we belong here, by doing what others want us to, but by living true to us.
Irony: about people who talk about him. Must think about 'how much have ourself achieved to criticize him'
I changed my career path when I was 29 years old and I can understand how hard it is . I m glad that I made change.
1)Yes.. exactly not only in rural areas but also in urban schools, college, students like undergraduate and postgraduate students.they don't know what is going around the world untill when the are facing hardships inlife in that process they are losing valuable time....
2) Through the hardwork we can achieve anything and everything.
"Success takes a while to materialize & it is the result of small daily actions repeated over extended periods of time" - Radhakishnan Damani
Nice! But the irony is that we are listening to him because he is an ex IPS.
Ya bt not all IPS officer get chance to talk in Josh talks it because he dared to leave his secured job Nd do what his heart wants actually brought him to Josh talk.
Doesn’t matter what you brought here. What matters is what you took away.

Every job is highest level jobs when everyone thinks that job is my passion and happiness
Nope,, We are listening him bcos he had courage to left Top service job of the country for his inner voice.
Yes, I agree . Without EX IPS he is nothing . why he used ex ips title on every video .

Absolutely amazing. The key takeaway is the right exposure and the right guidance. Things were pretty different a decade back. With the advent of the internet, there is a flow of information in every sphere of society. Rajan sir rightly said that with hard work how long luck would evade. I would like to add here that the burden of responsibilities is also a very crucial aspect. I am in the early 30s and want to switch my career. But my family depends on me. I need a sustainable job to survive them. This holds me back every time I decide to venture.

You are amazing Mr. Rajan. You got a fire in your speech. Your speech inspired me.
With due respect, @10:08 I completely disagree with your statement. That's not a small coincidence. That's where luck played a major role in your life.
My point is LUCK is EQUALLY important as HARD WORK. Without you moving to Allahabad at the right time, without the right exposure, and without the right books, you yourself agreed that you wouldn't have made it to IIT, IAS, and Wharton. I just wanted to emphasize the significance of luck.
Few people don't understand how lucky and privileged they are to born in a city or a well-developed country.
I think everyone should realize it and be grateful for what they have and focus on their hard work like how MR. Rajan said at 9:27 .
All IITians say same thing that they don't have special talent.
@S N chilldude. not everyone can afford to have a special talent.
@S N you are either an ignorant about the history and present situation of india or a privileged asshole to ssy that.
@S N i am privileged and i know that. thats why i studied well using whatever facilities were availale which many cant access. and fyki i never wasted my life ranting and crying like you do so i was fortunate to be always scoring well that doesnt require me to use any quota.
@S N first of all I'm a creamy layer candidate which disallows me to use any reservation in education and jobs. Next the reserved marks that you are saying must be for ST's. I don't think such a low cutoff would exist even for SC's. I can feel your pain. And I'm assuming you're a city kid. I urge you to go through the research evidences of contemporary demographics and contemporary social practices of rural india. Social evils aren't yet some age old practices. They are still are reality in Rural India (most often they go unpunished) where 70 percent of the population lives. Secondly, I support reservation,( i support ews reservation too) not because that i can benefit but because I've seen the blind practices still followed in the place that i live.
@Moder Gorbo Moder Asha Amori Bangla Bhasa dude I'm from DU and let me tell you that you can't just stop by seeing cutoffs. There is compulsory 8 percent reservation for STs and 12 percent reservation for SC's but when an RTI filed about number of reserved people getting seats, most of the colleges still have their reserved seats unfilled. Now that is the reality I'm talking about.
