- Enjoy a front row HD ride on Baron 1898 at Efteling. Riders are seated on a train of 18 people. Then, the search for gold begins with a treacherous 37.5-metre free fall down into the mineshaft. Subsequently, visitors roar around an Immelmann loop at 90 kilometres per hour, followed by a Zero-G roll during which visitors momentarily experience weightlessness and along with a Helix.

Seriously? I like the theme and the pre-ride stuff, but the actual ride is like 20 seconds long. Gimme a break.

Quite a slow loading/unloading procedure, given that you are sitting and waiting to unload whilst the other unloads/loads
+iKaGe01 If you think this is bad, look at Kentucky Kingdom. At least this place is running 3+ trains. Kentucky Kingdom runs 1 on everything. They'll run 2 on a blue moon.

Both are great however I’d say this tops it!

Ik denk dat deze persoon een camera had die aan zijn arm vast zit, en ik denk dat de efteling dit niet erg zou vinden. Want weer een video op het internet van de efteling, een soort van gratis reclame is dit voor hun.
Themepark worldwide vraagt altijd vantevoren toestemming aan het park om te mogen filmen.
@@SP94NL je moet wel toestemming vragen en de juiste apparatuur hebben.
Anders kan het nog gevaarlijk zijn als iedereen zomaar met zijn telefoon zou filmen bijvoorbeeld (en het dan laat vallen)

I love this ride, I rode it 4 times today. The lyrics of what the white women sing is just stuck in my head, but I can't find the original source audio of it :(

Colin Prijn The music was composed specifically for this ride in The Efteling. The singing voice you will hear on the ride is Anneke van Giersbergen, better known as the singer of dutch metal band The Gathering (1994 - 2007). She also co-wrote the music for the Raveleijn Show in the same theme park.
I read that there is an original score for sale of the music for Baron 1898, but apparently Anneke's vocals have not been used on that recording.

There are two( or one) room before you enter the roller coaster. It's a front show, you hear the director of the mining company. And we in the Netherlands there was a mining industy (mainly coal, but in the south of the Netherlands). And to the story they added thee ghost, which are from the story, those ghost are know in Dutch as: Witte wieven (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witte_Wieven).

They are called "Witte Wieven" ;) folkloric figure in holland. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witte_Wieven
As a mine worker, you descend into the mine in search for gold upon instruction from the mine "Baron". The ghost women or "white women" protect the gold and will sabotage your descent. They literally say "you have been warned" (refering to the pre show) "we will sabotage your descent, pride comes before a fall".
