  • In the third episode of Chasing Gold Olympics 2024, hosts Mike Hove and Muqbil Yabarow are joined in studio by Sofiane Bernoukh, a sports social media influencer.
Discussions included the performance of South Sudan’s “Bright Star,” a team looking to make African basketball history by advancing to the next stage of the Paris Olympics.
Plus, debates continue about whether African sprinters, including Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala and South Africa’s Akani Simbine can win gold in the 100m and 200m race.
This, and more Olympics-related updates on this week’s Chasing Gold podcast!

@@ahutamorris I don't disagree with you about being proud of our African languages but the question is how can we understand ourselves...?! For example in S.Sudan only those who lived in Kenya speak Kiswahili while majority speak English, Arabic & our native languages that makes it hard for us to communicate in our own languages unless in English or Arabic mostly... It'll take long for us Africans to fix this coz it's deeply rooted.

@@deborah-dr African from North, West, South, central and East Africa, we are all one and that why like in Kenya we don't discriminate any African . In Kenya, since I was young I have lived with Sudanese, played with Sudanese, go to school with them and to church too. Even now we still have many Sudanese in Kenya and they are citizens and the worst thing is that they don't know how to speak any of the Sudanese languages but they just speak Kiswahili. We have many Somalis, Ethiopian, Ugandans, Tanzania, Burundis, Rwandan, Congolese, Egyptian, Nigerian, Eritrean and other African people. We have accepted them and here is their home too. This means we (African) can come up with one language to use around the continent but also we keep our native languages with the cultures. This unity can lead to a strong brotherhood and we come up with one currency 💵 and that will kill the European, American and Asian market hence hence they will respect us. When the white see the black people coming together, they start to be worried.
