Marcus och Martinus Gunnarsen slog igenom redan som tioåringar när de vann Norges motsvarighet till Lilla Melodifestivalen.
Under sitt dryga decennium i rampljuset har de bland annat sålt ut en egen arenaturné i Europa, turnerat med artister som Jason Derulo och uppträtt på kronprinsessan Victorias 40-årsfirande med en specialskriven låt.
2016 utsågs duon till "Årets spellemann", det tyngsta priset på Spellemann-galan, som är den norska motsvarigheten till Grammisgalan.
Deras största hit “Elektrisk” blev den låt som legat längst på topp 10-listan i Norge med sina 66 veckor. De vann svenska Masked Singer 2022 och flyttade sin bas till Stockholm, där de arbetar med svenska låtskrivare och producenter.
De Melodifestival-debuterade 2023 med "Air, som" blev det första bidraget i Melodifestivalens historia att gå direkt till final utan att någon av de tävlande artisterna vid någon tidpunkt hade bott i Sverige. I finalen slutade Marcus & Martinus på andra plats och blev den tangerat bäst placerade helt utländska akten någonsin, tillsammans med Arja Saijonmaa (1987).

Loreen wasn't my favorite last year, this doesn't mean she didn't deserve to win. Some of you have to finally understand not everyone who watches Eurovision is obsessed with kitsch, trashy songs and joke entries. Those who have been watching this contest for years have even caught the golden years of this competition, before the obsessed Woke fandom started watching it, those times were marvellous compared to what we're seeing nowadays. As soon as I heard the song and then saw the performance I felt that we have our winner. Even my husband said the first time he saw it that he didn't know how anyone would be able to top this in Melodifestivalen. And here we are!
I really don't know where this will end up in eurovision but I'm proud of our choice. It's really a proffessional performance from both the boys and the team behind it. And a big plus that M&M are such nice people! They will represent Sweden in the nicest way. Congratulations! ❤

best stage show in this year's Melodifestivalen final. also, a Norwegian representing Sweden? to me as an Indonesian, it feels like a Malaysian sneaking in an Indonesian show. neighbour with similar language and sometimes similar vibes (but only enough amount of fame in neighbouring country can guarantee a victory).
Sweden and Norway have pretty much had completely open borders for all their citizens since the 1950s. A lot of people working in one country and live in the other, have family in one etc. We also share a history and culture with each other and think of each as family.
This is not first time another country artist represent. Look at Celine Dion representing Schweiz being Canadian 🤷🏻
