Oliver has to have one of the best fake American accent I have ever seen. I thought my jaw was going to hit the floor when I heard his real voice! Amazing talent
I was literally “jaw to the floor” stunned that he is from the U.K… his American accent in 911 1000% suits him.. he looks like an American, big and buff (I know that’s not a prerequisite for being American, just look at “the beast” , he’s British lol.. especially since most Americans are obese, but body building seems to be bigger in America than the uk) and for some reason, even his facial structure screams American to me .. I watched an interview about his tattoos, just out of curiosity, and was absolutely blind sided by the British accent lol.. for me, I’ve only ever seen him talk in an American accent in 911, so the British accent comes off as forced, especially because you can clearly tell his time talking with an American accent has DEFINITELY affected his normal speech patterns, causing his UK accent to sound more American , even though he’s from the U.K.
I didn’t expect he is British. He did a fantastic job doing that American accent in 911. His voice is also so much deeper than that in the show. I was looking up his out of show speaking style bc Buck speaks in an immature way and I wanted to know if this is a great acting or they just casted a guy with Buck’s personality in real life. Now I can confirm that he is really an excellent actor.
Agreed! And when they did flashback episodes to his younger adult years, he sounded young too! Not just voice wise, but young in life wise. I just thought he was a hyper, fresh new actor when I started the series. Now very green and just a party guy. I'm very impressed now that he captured Bucks zest for life in the show. I also thought it was just the actors personality shining thru with poor acting skills lol. I feel terrible now. He's great!
righttttt I think americans are just not familiar with mle like I think he has a bit of a twang sometimes of american influence but his london accent is still very prominent like anyone from the uk would recognise this accent as being from london pretty easily I think
The one thing I do know about London, it's a huge hodgepodge of cultures, people, and accents. So it is possible that he grew up hearing all sorts and picked them up like a sponge.

Yes!
To me, he just sounds like an East London guy, with a very slight American infleunce on some of his T sounds.
I didn’t know he was British til now I got a lot to catch up on
