That would be nice! Remember that stretch of rundown, awful looking Flory's buildings on Rt 4 in Rutland Town? Took forever but they finally cleaned that up.
@@AngryVermonter That was AWFUL along Business Rt 4, yes! For whatever reason, the town could never get the owners to clean it up! Similar to all the blighted houses in Rutland - the city never seems to be able to make landlords/owners accountable for the abysmal conditions of their properties.
@@KC_5432 I lived in a place on Library Ave years ago that was eventually condemned and torn down. The outside was bad but I didn't mind because the inside was OK and the rent was really cheap.
@@GailKuzyszyn Good question. I guess a lot of them stick around. There are places that serve as temporary shelters when there's an extreme cold streak. It wouldn't surprise me if the government expands the motel voucher program or something like that. I never understood why these people don't scrape together enough for a bus or train ticket to California. The weather is way better plus I hear it's even more of a free for all, welfare paradise out there.
@@oovotzify So true. And Vermont incentivizes it. The state legislature created a motel voucher program a few years ago. The homeless population in Rutland went from around 100 to 700 or something like that. A lot of people came here from other places to get the free motel rooms. And now we have to deal with it. Thanks Democrats and "Progressives!"
Sure wish Mintzer Brothers would paint their buildings.. Woudl help to "clean up" that area and look better on that stretch of Strongs Ave!

@@AngryVermonter not a bad deal, then!

Too many young able-bodied people choosing to be homeless. That is the problem.
