BIG HOUSE 10 GRANDS S TIER
TBH4 had one of the greatest top 8's of all time overall but the Grand Finals itself doesn't deserve S tier imo. I dunno how you could watch 4, 6, and 9 Grand Finals and say they're on the same level tbh. 6 and 9 are both pure magic

recommendation for future videos like this: play the clip once for the viewers to see with full audio, then commentate over it with reduced audio :) it was a bit hard to parse the clip audio from the commentary at times
Or link the VODs in the description, so they give credit to the sources.
Or play the whole damn clip. Hbox vs mango in the second clip doesn’t even show the ending. Like cmon man….
It's still kinda surreal to me the fact that I did spanish commentary for TBH 9 top 8 on site. Grands was such a hype moment overall, definitely one of my fondest memories on the mic.

I was at a local for Smash Ultimate, and we literally stopped to watch The Big House 9 grand finals. It was so hype

crazy how The Big House 2 as captured by a discord screen share still has better quality video than Riptide 2022
The Big House 3 was a 3-0, but it was hype because Mew2King beat PPMD again, so soon after already doing it once at The Fall Classic 2013, and Mew2King beat Hungrybox not just once, but twice, for the first time since Revival of Melee 3 in late 2010 (aka the first major that PP won), along with this being Mew2King's first major win since Super Champ Combo in mid-late 2007.
Also at The Big House 8, to say Hungrybox destroyed everyone is an understatement, he hadn't lost a single game up until Plup took Game 1 in Winners Finals, and then Hungrybox 4 stocked him on Dream Land and the momentum all went back to Hbox
Do you mean grands? Plup got upset in Winners Top 64 by Bananas, and made the losers run all the way back to grands.

As a huge Big House fan. And have been to 3 of them. This is something super awesome to see.
@Rodent haven't been vaccinated. Was going to go with 4 of my friends. But all of us couldn't. :( Big house is the best though.
I think the big house 7 one is cool cause it shows how brutal melee or I guess real life is. Even when you become one of the few people to beat armada, in the very same day u just get up throw rested a bunch and lose

The Big House 8 probably also felt deflated because it happened shortly after Armada retired.
i would loooove to see you do these with other tournaments too! there might be too many summits at this point though lol. but on the other hand, summit has some absolutely classics. mango zain is the favorite for sure, but axe's win... m2k's win... i'm just saying... genesis would be the other big tournament for this i think. you could do evo too, but maybe there arent actually enough evos... there were only six

Kind of sucks that all the hbox wins were rated low, but makes sense, a lot of people don't like Hbox.
It's not about people not liking Hbox, it's just that his Big House wins weren't great sets. They were all blowouts in his favor - not exactly amazing Melee compared to the ones they rated S-tier, including where he got 2nd to M2K.
If they were ranking EVO grand finals, guaranteed they would have put his victory in 2016 #1. That's unanimously agreed upon as one of the greatest sets of all time
@@muqmanor I agree. The big house sets in the video are just kinda mid, but both the GTX 2017 and the EVO 2016 sets were simultaneously both the best GTX grand finals of all time, AND the best Melee Evo grand finals of all time.

4,6 and 9 imo were the best they were all equally as good. all mang0 wins too 🤔
4 is amazing, but like the Grand Finals set itself is more Mango steamrolling than a crazy back and forth. Which don't get me wrong, I love watching, just not the same tier.

Man this video just had to remind me of Plup vs Hbox at Riptide.
Big house 4 is the most special for me because it was the first melee tournament I watched live on twitch. Maybe if it had not been so hype I would not have gotten into melee at all.
I had no idea Lovage won the first big house. Thats dope. Oscar is such a nice guy. Big house 10 will probably be my favorite. Also 7 is a weird favorite just because you can see -Hbox- Juan change as a person from winning this. He realized he is the bad guy at the top and is having an internal struggle. Its honestly sad to see. He then played into being the bad guy for a bit if I recall but lately hbox has been pretty hype to watch. I mean I would much rather see a zain mango grands then hbox anyone but hbox is a new man and I like it.
I love how BH is the gate to Summit. Its fitting. Its also one of my favorite series. I think my favorite is Super Smash Con just because its usually pretty hype but mostly because we get the Smash 64 combo contest. Summit is my second favorite just because its an all day show with other side shows like mafia. Then Big House. Pound and genesis are also usually pretty nice.
