We would not have a successful farm without your documentation. Pulling in around 8k per month in our 2nd year is in large part thanks to you. THANK YOU!
I also wanted to thank you for making lectures like this available! Im a student and I don’t have a farm, but I do have dreams of one sometimes. So free information like this is invaluable for someone who’s trying to find out what’s possible. Thanks again!
Richard you blow my mind! What an incredible presentation, packed with information! you have the answers to modern farming problems, this should be compulsory viewing for anyone interested in the environment in relation to food production everywhere! Gonna be sharing this like crazy
Incredible presentation. My family are moving from Australia to start a family farm in south of France and look forward to starting a permaculture farm like this!! Still 1000 questions but so exciting!!
YoU STUNNER. Always loved you back in Brighton 2 decades ago and Love you just the same now tho Magnified appreciation of your brilliance Rich…. Wow, thank you for showing us this common sense story! I have a little more hope now that my dream will come true one day. Greetings from The Netherlands
I get the profit part, but funny that it has so much focus. Just growing healthy food for myself, family and local community + regeneration of land and ecosystems is enough reason for and that is quite priceless, but sure, some money to pay off the farm is nice.
It's a business, if you're self employed you want to make sure you are making a living wage. If someone is creating so much value for others they should recieve value in return. Taking care of the land and the sustenance of communities is a very important job and it's been undervalued for a long time unfortunately. If we want people to continue to do things like this they have to make a good living. Profit isn't a bad thing, especially when it results from good intention and value for value exchange. Money isn't a bad thing. Money opens opportunities and gives people freedom.
Alan Savory visited my ranch along time ago and wrote Hello to the Gavilan which my ranch has a part of the rio gavilan its in Mexico but then people started treating the ranch poorly and his son came and wrot adios to the gavilan so goodbye to the gavilan. My dads main purpose in this ranch is for people to say hi to it instead of goodbye so this really helps
I would like to start out in agriculture this year. But a major concern for me is, how to deal with the psychological aspects of slaughter. I‘ve heard that in heard slaughter should be best for the animals. How do you go about Processing, and how does it feel, or how do you deal with it?
I grew up on a small farm in Alberta when farmers were still opening land and farming with horses. In the early 1940’s they were just changing to the age of a tractor working the land. What we grew was pure, a carrot tasted like a carrot, no such thing as insecticides. Gradually our system changed to something that the food that is grown now is toxic and making people sick, sadly we don’t have a choice.
I live in Slovakia and I would like to find more info about Euro grant possibilities for farmers in the EU. Could you make a video about that or get me in contact with any market gardens or CSI's in Austria, Czechia, or Hungary? Many thanks!
Great video! i loe the stacking in the greenhouse, i eed to find a way tgo use our greenhouse seed starter area better but i usually find though i don't manage to attend to the stuff that is high up so well
Can anyone correct me on the names Richard is referring to? Trying to read more on their work 24:39 John Sasouns ? 25:01 Joel Salaton? 44:45 Elliot Coleman and John Marten? Any other names I have missed, Liam Percival?
You mean this is how your version of regenerative agriculture works. Please choose better titles for your videos. You live in Europe. Not very many places in Europe are lacking in water. Accuracy is key.
Me too. Cause you don't need it. Also small slaughterhouses have a much lower chance of stunning them correctly. And even the bigger slaughterhouses have only a 50% chance of stunning them correctly.
@@Xera1 That's not true at all, you don't need human designed animals for anything. Otherwise we wouldn't even exist. Just because someone in the video says so, it doesn't mean that it is true or not. There is 0 evidence for the claim you are making.
@@dieabsolutegluckskuche5174 before we killed them all, non "human designed" animals grazed and built this land. Without them, it dies - it's dying. Unfortunately humans have already killed most of these animals, as Richard talks about in this presentation, so we need to replace them. It has to be financially possible in the process, due to the world we live in, otherwise how else are you going to start making any changes? With money from thin air? Or are you planning a communist revolution tomorrow so we don't need money to enact change?
@@Xera1Hey mr Holloway, Again, just because he says so, doesn't mean it is correct, he didn't provide evidence for that claim. You don't need any cattle or wild animals to convert a landscape. Your last sentences are kinda bs mate, are you trying to insult me with things you don't know? The most profitable crop (per m² and time investment) are actually mushrooms, he sells them too. And there are a lot of plants which ones provide a higher income than animal products. But what he says about the selling is correct. A lot of farmers have know-how about producing but not about marketing/selling. Cheers

how did you do it? did you start from nothing or did you already own a farm?
It is almost a year later, how is this year so far?
Yes It would be fun to get a followup . Richard , Maby a visit?

Is it just me, or does this man make more sense than any other?
No it's not just you, and yes Richard is awesome! We've been recommending him around here in ireland :D
Only 28,000 views, Miley Cyrus is where it's at
Head and shoulders above the rest. The breadth and depth of knowledge, both intellectual and practical is just astounding. I recommend him everywhere.

Hi how are you doing my friend
Very good presentation, Richard.
Could daikon radish in a diverse cover crop mix help break up compaction?

Just finding out about you. EXCELLENT presentation. Will be following your work.
I envy you! You have 5 years of world class material to watch through. That is like having a chance to watch Battlestar Galactica for the first time!

I'd like to buy the book from you but your "order now" buttons take me to a page with no obvious way to purchase it
Richard, do you know any market gardens that do no-dig successfully in Southern Europe (France, Italy, Spain, etc.)?
:) well deserved applause

Please update your link as the regenerative one is no longer working.

Can we grow our own medicine..
It must be hard to give this talk to older farmers.

I feel bad for the animals.
Me too. Cause you don't need it. Also small slaughterhouses have a much lower chance of stunning them correctly. And even the bigger slaughterhouses have only a 50% chance of stunning them correctly.
It's a shame people comment on an hour long talk without having watched the first 15 minutes. The animals are essential. No animals = no regeneration.
