silly question but why use a clip for the weight instead of tying it to the bottom of the rig? Just getting back into fishing after years out

The clip allows you to quickly change weight sizes depending on the strength of the tide and distance your trying to cast.

Just watched the video and purchased all the bits you showed I’m looking forward to making some rigs thankyou. When you clip your hook to the weight can you do that with both when casting or just the bottom one

Good luck when you try the rig. You can make a two hook clipped down rig, could be a good idea to buy a ready made rig as a template 👌

Also how much difference is there between a crimp and a line stop? I've read line stops are for float height, but couldn't you use them in place of crimps?

You could try using line stops, but there’s a chance they would move on the line when casting. The crimps will stay in place even when casting to the horizon.

No explanation of tackle being used, hook sizes, snood length etc

Hi GSHTV, the opening shot shows all the tackle we used including size 2/0 Sakuma manta extra hooks. The video also shows what length to make each snood. Hook size will depend on you bait choice.
