Absolutely wonderful show. Looking back at the stories of growing up with knives it what inspired me to start collecting not just knives but stories too . Thank you
Excellent, I've got one just like it, use it almost every day. The Delrin is still in good condition as are the blades. I remember the first time I sliced an orange with it. Thanks. Take care, Snaps like a Gator
@@RichardKut-j7m thank you Richard for your interest and commenting. These knives were as good as it gets. I’ve seen prettier knives but pretty sometimes only brass liner deep😁
I'm 35 years old. When I was a kid, all the adults had an Old Timer, Buck, or a Case sodbuster. Super nostalgic knives and they bring a lot of joy to my life
Thank you for your comments and opinions they are always welcome here. Yes I have some of all 3 you mentioned and they take me back. I try to get the out of the ordinary designs and think the how’s and why’s they built it like that. 👍👊💯
Man I loved this video!! So cool to have a knife that will take you back to some great memories! I love seeing the old buildings and history that’s stuff we don’t see much anymore!! Hope all is well brother!!
@@865knives thank you brother always cool to hear from you. Appreciate your opinions and comments. Baby face clean man. Thank you sir in a lot of ways👍👊💯
You make some great finds, Lanny! Made when they were made well, carbon steel and perfect condition. Can't beat it. Great snap! I'd take that over a new Case any day. I'd definitely look at preserving that one. You got that knife because he knew you would appreciate it. That old shop would make a great man cave. I could see spending a lot of time hanging out there. Have a great weekend!
That is a wonderful gift and a beautiful knife! Brand new. In the box. My oh my. 👍 And I thoroughly enjoyed you showing and talking about your Home Place. Have a blessed rest of your weekend! Cheers, RW
Lanny I surely appreciate you. Old Timer’s have a special place in my heart because my first knife was a 34 OT. I got it for my birthday in the 70’s, and I remember the box was dark brown with gold lettering that said “A Knife Like Grand Dad’s.” Thanks for taking us along to visit the old mill house. Have a blessed Sunday 🙏
Happy New Year my friend, what a beautiful OT, just a gorgeous example of a new in the box piece. Thank you so much for sharing sir, I hope 2025 holds great things for you. Dave🇨🇦🇺🇸🙏🔪
Thanks Dave it is not a rare knife but it is in super rare condition. My aim was to make the video where someone could see exactly what the knife was and what came with it if you just bought it 30 years ago and took it home. Happy new year thanks for your interest and input 👍👊💯
Such a gorgeous piece…always will be too. I got rid of mine but it’s in great hands which is what matters to me. God bless ya Lanny thanks for the mention! Take care brother.
I believe that box was issued from 1990, 1991 to 1998. So you'd be on the dot with its age. Great knives OTs. The 33 and 34 OTs are my favorites. Thanks much for sharing
@@WhippleUniverse thanks DWhip this gem Will take you back. About as ironic as it gets. Everyone’s toter for decades and now one you don’t want to mess up👍👊💯

I'd wouldn't bet against you as to the age. The last Old Timers I bought new in the late 80s came in the brown boxes (still have em). Enjoyed the presentation, and historical tour.
