Peach Tree Guild Revisit | Permaculture Swale Food Forest

- Recently a viewer made a comment on one of my earlier videos in which I explain my design for the peach tree guild and plant some young plants. She commented that it would be very daunting to plant into so much grass. Having a look at the guild today and there's been quite a change. The plants are mostly growing well and the grasses are certainly getting under control.
Check out today's video in which I go through the original plan for this area in the swale food forest and I discuss how each of the plants are doing and just generally have a look around two and a half years after planting more of the guild.

So cool that you cultivated owl habitat!
It makes all the hard work worthwhile 😊
Such amazing growth in a couple of years! And owls 🦉 ❤️ well done
It's lovely to see it all taking off and having special little visitors like I've had, is just the icing on the cake!! :)
Isn’t that why we garden, to work, to learn and make a bounty for ourselves and the environment.
If you build it they will come! So rewarding!!
Oh dear, those cute owls! 😍 You could make the some nest boxes and place them around the property. 😍
Mmm perhaps I’ll investigate their nesting habits 🤔
Oh, and congrats zu over 6000 Subscribers 😊

Beautiful area and habitat you have created there Linda🌱🌱 Such thoughtful design xx Cathi xx 😘
Thanks Cathi - I love how it’s come together!!
Anyone concerned that all of that grass and green floor can harbor ticks? We can't do guineas to control them and they have been found in the treeline of an old farmer's field about 40 yds away. So it's a risk here.
Hi Julie in my area ticks aren't an issue so it's never been something I've even thought about. I understand why you may not want to do something like this!!
Hello Linda I just bought some peaches and plumbs and was wondering when to plant them. You planted yours in August? Is that the best time for the tree or was it just the most convenient time. Thank you Linda
Hi Tony I bought bare rooted plants so winter is the best time to plant those. If you have trees in pots with leaves on them (which I assume you do) perhaps plant them in autumn when it’s a bit cooler and make sure you keep them well watered!! Good luck & enjoy the fruits of your labour 😊
Yes in pots thank you for your advice
@tonycortese2165 👍
🍑love it
Me too ☺️
The owls are beautiful. I can hear owls at night near the house but we go out with headlamps and can't spot them. I don't think they live here , just visit . This guild of yours looks fantastic. I'm glad your sick peach is looking good again. I have to severely prune the trees out the front we've used as support for our front orchard. Some of the fruit trees were planted 4 years ago and I really expected fruit this year , some flowers but hardly any fruit. Time to increase sunlight and nourish them this autumn as soon as this heat let's up of course. Great job Linda ,thank you for sharing lovely ❤❤
Yes sunlight and nourishing those trees is so important. The chop and drop technique certainly helps improve the soil to improve the nourishing!! Thanks for watching lovely!!
Just start - never wiser words said.
Thanks Linda.. hope my food hedge (fedge) is looking like this in 2025 ❤
I'm sure your fedge will be looking amazing by then!!
Inspirational, as ever ;) and Owls!!
