I think you seriously misread what happened in brans flashback lol. The women was neds sister lyanna, who's kidnap started the entire rebellion. He didn't screw anyone and stayed faithful to cat

I also misinterpreted that scene with Bran. I was just confused. It took a neighbor explaining it to me and then re watching the entire series SEVERAL times….intently.

I facepalmed myself back to season one episode one after hearing their epic conclusion.
Remember Ned went to rescue HIS sister (who was kidnapped) in that flashback. He fought the Targaryen kingsguard (Arthur Dayne and Gerold Hightower) who were guarding the tower on the orders of Rhaegar. Ned is not Jon’s father, but Lyanna Stark is his mother, think about it for a sec and it will hit you.
Can’t believe the reveal of who Jon’s real mother was went right over your heads 😂😂😂

Opening with a piano piece is so unnerving, there hadn’t been any music like that in the series to this point.
It was so unexpected that when I was watching it, I thought some other video or music was playing in the background.
Ramin Djawadi was killing it. That piano piece is mesmerizing, it literally distracted me so much I had to rewatch the entire sequence becasue I could not pay attention. It will came back in season 8 episode 3 though its not exactly the same ( much better ), as if the music leveled up lol.
i watched a vid of rawin explaining that the only instrument he hasn't used yet in all his compositions for got before s6e10 is a piano.
it added to the unnerving effect people felt when they heard the piano for the first time in the background of a got episode.

The woman in the tower was not Catelyns sister, the woman was Neds sister. Which means Jon is not Neds son but his nephew. So Jon always thought Ned was his father, but he was actually his uncle. Jons mother in Lyanna Stark and he has a different father. Lyanna was being guarded in that tower by Rhaegars knight, because Rhaegar took her there to hide her from King Robert Baratheon. That's why Robert hated all the Targaryens and had them all killed. Lyanna says to Ned that he has to take her baby (Jon) to protect him because if Robert finds out about him, he will kill him. Draw your own conclusions from those facts about who Jons father might be. :)
Also this episode covers some time. Varys was in Dorne to get the Martells and Tyrells alliance because he needed their ships to move Dany's forces over to Westeros. He travelled back with their ships and then travels back to Westeros with Dany's full force. You can see Dornish and Tyrell ships in her fleet.

Oh my! Ned didn't fuck his sister! Wtf!😂 Lyanna was "kidnapped" by Rhaegar Targaryen and that's what started Robert's Rebellion. Ned was there to retrieve his sister who very obviously died of complications of child birth. And ask yourselves, if Rhaeghar had his 2 best fighters protecting the tower AND a pregnant Lyanna, what does that MEAN?!
Its time to watch the R+L=J TH-cam video guys. Absorb it. Let the implications sink in!

Ned lied to everyone to protect Lyanna's son, his nephew, from Robert who would have had him put to death. This why Ned was was willing to quit when Robert wanted Dany killed when she was preggers. It just reaffirmed his fear that Robert would kill Jon outright if he found out who his true father was.

Oh well, you missed the great reveal… also, the pace is drastically changing from now on. Months pass quickly in this episode allowing for the Northern Lords to get to Winterfell, Olenna to get to Dorne, Cersei to prepare for her coronation, Jaime to get back to King’s Landing and Daenerys to ready her fleet. Varys has plenty of time to return with empty Tyrell and Martell ships (you did not catch that the Targaryen armada includes the green sails of Tyrell ships and the orange sails of Martell ships). Because they are needed to ferry Daenerys’ formidable army back to Westeros.
I know people hate it.. but I also get why things sped up travel wise. LIke would it be great to stretch out the show to maybe 9 or 10 seasons? Yeah sure, but I get actors and companies have contracts, have things to do etc. Still think season 7 is okay.. obviously season 8 pretty lack luster. But understand why they kind of skip Varys taking like 5+ episodes to get back to Dany and stuff like that.
@@CrazeeAdam Agree. Wasn’t personally bummed by S8, loved most of the episodes, especially 1/2/3 and 5. The problem ppl failed to see until it actually unfolded before their eyes was that satisfyingly concluding such a massive story in just 13 eps was almost an impossible task for David & Dan - as talented as they were - bound to upset many fans. As for the ending, am 100% fine with it, as it is very much aligned with GRRM vision.

I don’t think Cersei just didn’t realize Margaery was in the sept or saw her as collateral damage when she blew it up. She was probably her most direct target alongside the High Sparrow. She DEFINITELY had every intention of killing her.

Fun Fact: The chandelier in the Library at Old Town is the same as the mechanism we see in the opening.

I'm sorry for what happened to you. In Daario's case however, I really enjoyed him getting dumped, given how he spoke to Jorah.
If you look up the map of the known world (GOT world), it will all be clear. To sail to Kings Landing from Meereen, you must sail past the sea of Dorne. Varys was negotiating for an alliance between Daenerys and the Tyrells and the Martells. Then Varys waited for the Targaryen fleet at Sunspear, and joined his queen, along with the Tyrells fleet and the Martells fleet, setting sails for Dragonstone.
Why not just land in Dorne then?

Since mankind figures out how efficient sailing is at transporting a large amount of goods and people, they have taken to the sea. Even in this day and age of air travel, literally all global trade is done by sea. That’s why it’s called “shipping”, when an item is sent to one place from another even if it’s on land. Why would they walk when they can sail?
@@adambelike2346 no I mean why not land in a place where there's enough food to supply your army. And where additional armies can be raised. Not to mention it's Winter so the climate in Dorne is probably significantly more tolerable than Dragonstone.
@@vincegalila7211 Dragonstone is the ancestral seat of House Targaryen, and where Daenerys was born. And to assault Dragonstone, the Lannisters would need a large navy, which they didn't have at the time. And as long as the sea lanes are open, supply is not really an issue at Dragonstone. Aegon the conquerer landing at Dragonstone was a major historical event in Westeros history. A Targaryen with Dragons retaking Dragonstone will warn all the undecided houses at least to not raise their banners against her, if they're not willing to bend their kneel out right. So it has a lot of strategic and political advantages.

Dragonstone is the place where the Targaryen's sat doing sweet FA for centuries.
Also once again it's a barren island that mainly feeds itself with imports an fishing, Dorne is a self sufficient princedom unmolested by war.
And as much as Arya has learned, she never did bother to learn to disguise that "My lord/m'lord" thing...

I don't know why people are saying any of this is a spoiler, it certainly isn't. All of that was in the show prior to this point and Suzy & Steejo should have already been aware of it. It has been explained multiple times, ever since season one, that Lyanna was Neds' sister and that she was supposed to have been kidnapped by Rhaegar Targaryen. It's also pretty clear from this episode that the baby is Jon and that he also wasn't Neds, so clearly Ned didn't cheat. No spoilers whatsoever there, all just things that Suzy & Steejo should have known and realised in this episode.
If you want some clarifications about what happened in the flashback, I recommand watching "R+L=J, who's Jon's mother" ^^ No spoilers because it was made before season 6. It's a recap of all the scenes leading up to that revelation, and the editing is amazing.
Or they could watch the first tower scene again where Ned fights Arthur Dayne after he asks “where is my sister” and etc 😂

Suzy, I love that you enjoy Sansa! And I love that you hated seeing Margaery go (though her death was kind of incredible). These two are my favorite characters (Cersei being number 3, I’m obviously not going off of morality with her.)

Everyone that is surprised they didn't get Jon's lineage - it was much easier when it was airing, and all of twitter explained R+L=J. When you reacting to the series it's hard to remember all the storylines. A lot of the explanations about Lyanna is in the first season, and who remembers that!
I think their viewing has been so start and stop that it was harder for them to piece it together.
that's why all the other reactors audiences basically force them to watch all the history and lore videos to make sure they get it.

It's HIS sister. He went to rescue his sister who had been kidnapped, that spurred the entire war. He saved her but she was dying and surprise it was cause she had a bad birth of jon! He's still got stark blood, just not Neds. It's Lyanna Stark's son.

Not a HUGE GoT fan, but I do appreciate it. This episode though... damn... the way they changed up the music and that opening sequence... amazing cinema on its own.
In amongst Danys fleet of ships you can see ships with sails from Dorne, they have joined her cause and sailed, with Varys, to meet her on the way to Westeros
Best episode of the series, IMO. Especially the music during the “trial.”

This episode took place over several weeks, so Varys traveling back-and-forth was just seen off screen
Plus on the way to Dragonstone they could of just stopped by and picked him up.
Never forget that Wildings are so much hated in all Seven Kingdoms because they frequently do attacks south of the wall, even if small ones....that's why Lord Royce of the Vale told Wildings invaded

That big shandelier that Sam sees in the ceiling of the library is what's used in the opening intro to all GoT episodes.

I also kind of love the call back to many seasons ago. We knew about the Dragonfire barrels under the city. Tyrion and Varys checked it out before the Battle of the Blackwater and used just a sample of it to light Stannis' ships ablaze and gain the upper hand to start that battle. Kind of cool to see it come back around
Also the kids that killed the Grand Maester are the spies that Varys and others have used to get info etc.

It took me watching the whole series a few times before I started catching a lot of details. And through reactors, I still keep noticing things I didnt before.
time jumps were tricky, but it's the Dornish and Tyrell fleets that Varis took back to ferry Dany and friends over.
So yeah as mentioned by several others, Lyanna is Ned's sister. The whole thing that started Robert's rebillion war was that she was kidnapped by Rhaegor Targeryan (this is Dany's and her brother's... well brother), and forced into a relatinship with him. After that, Robert (who we know not so secretly loved Lyanna) and Ned, along with all the other houses stormed in to rescure Lyanna and put an end to the Targeryan reign, crowning Robert the king afterwards. So yeah.. and ask yourself does NED seem like the type of guy who would casually elope with his own sister? Not to me at least =/
IMO Dany only really loved 1 man.. and that man died a long time ago. :( Daario is great, but I don't know if she ever truly loved him
As far as Season 7 goes, some will say it's not good at all. To me, it's still pretty decent. It's not season 6 by a stretch or like any of the seasons before, but still has some great moments and epic scenes. :)

Some smart book readers actually predicted that there would be a sacrifice to bring Jon Snow back. And I think that sacrifice in the show was Shireen (probably in the book too). So, while she was "wrong" to think Stannis was the one who would defeat the White Walkers, the sacrifice was not wrong. It is why she was able to bring him back to life. Now, as for your analysis of what Bran saw... sheesh, you cats are bad at reading scenes.
The sacrifice was still wrong, because she didn't have the right to do it. It might have been what the Lord of Light intended though, yes.

Yeah, so that was Ned’s sister that gave birth to Jon, the one who making Robert was in love with, with she was in love with a Targeryn. It was said that she was killed by him..but Beans flashback showed what really happened. It was supposed to be a big reveal..she moved a Targeryn..and then had a baby..the baby is Jon.. dun dunn dunnn!!!
The technical term for a ruling queen is queen regnant. Although Cersei has no real right to the throne, since she isn't a Baratheon. She just took it anyway.

This episode is the best one of the whole show for me. Cersei being a QUEEN the whole ep was epic, and then actually being the Queen. 👑 (I've met Lena Headey who plays her and she's super nice and awesome IRL so I can't really hate on Cersei.) I always liked Margaery Tyrell so I was sad to see her go out like that, but it was glorious to watch it the first time. AND Arya finally avenging the Stark's with that assassin's move was awesome. 🥧 That Jon reveal was great! And of course, the DRAGONS!!! 😍

Its not continuity with Varys. People forget how close stuff is in this world. He went to Dorne, which is the southernmost part of Westeros, and he didn't have to go all the way back to Mereen to meet Dany. He and the ships from Dorne could've waited in the Narrow Sea for her armada to show up and we didn't see anything until then. It would be as if she was in a place like Palestine or Italy, and he went to the Canary Islands, then came back and waited for her near Spain before heading across the Atlantic. Only the Narrow Sea is smaller than the Atlantic.
Book readers always say it drops off after season 4 which is ridiculous. It's weird how they get irrational about tv shows based off books. Please stop telling us "the books are better", we know they have more detail.

In defense of Melisandre, this is a world that demonstrably has gods, magic, and supernatural forces. Believing in prophecies in this world is not nearly as batsh|t as it would be in our world. It's sometimes hard for us to remember that in _our_ world magic is "pick a card, any card" but in _their_ world magic is "my dragon just vaporized you" or "just gave birth to a shadow demon." When that stuff is all around you, it's not crazy to start believing visions in flames.
It's truly a horrible thing that she did to Shireen, there is absolutely no denying that. But I do believe that she did it with the intention of ultimately defeating the Night King and saving every living human. She interpreted the visions wrong, or maybe her god was toying with her. Whatever the reason, I believe her intentions were solid, in that she would do anything to protect humanity. From her point of view, this is a desperate fight to the death save every living person. And that POV is not wrong. With a couple of exceptions, not many people in this universe are taking the threat as seriously as they need to.
I also think that she suffers remorse, even if she doesn't show it much on the outside; she's a very private person when it comes to her inner thoughts.
