    Your home styling is very elegant and your voice is so refined and soothing to listen to! One caveat about having framed art above the bed: It is imperative to fasten it securely, essentially making it part of the wall. It should be able to stay put even in an earthquake. (If the quake is strong enough to shake the wall apart... well, the art is the least of one's problems😧)

      Thanks so much for this wonderful feedback, you are too kind. (And my sincere apologies for such a delayed response). Absolutely, I agree - fastening it properly is a must, we don’t want any art falling on our heads!

    THIS is the kind of useful and detailed info I am looking for when I come to TH-cam. I just found you today and watched several of your videos, I feel as though I just finished a course in interior design! A refreshing change from the endless videos featuring the same old fast furniture and latest viral vase. I'm a fan!

    Your tips are so great! I love how you provide specific details such and sizes and measurements all the way down to pillows. I am very detailed oriented, take forever to make decisions, and need that type of guidance or I get stuck.

    What size long singular pillow for a queen bed should be used?

    Great tip about balancing the size of the art above the bed with the height of other elements in the room. I'll be using art above my television and I knew that I was going to need balance on both sides of the tv stand because it's against a pretty long wall.

    Great tip on paying attention to the walls. Do you hang tips on choosing paint color and size of art for a small room?

    I’m having a hard time with my bedroom because we have a window asymmetrically behind our bed (the bed can’t go on any other wall) and I’m not sure how to work around it. Any suggestions?

    I have a question, when you are making sure there is an uneven amount of items on a display, are lamps counted or are wall mirrors counted? I have a dining room buffet that has one lamp and a large mirror on the wall above it. How many items should I use to style it. I have a floral arrangement in a large vase and other decorative items. :) I enjoy your videos! Thank you!

    • @kellyhopterinteriors
      @kellyhopterinteriors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      A buffet will typically require quite a few items because of its length - I always start with a floral arrangement (great that you already have that), a bowl, one or two stacks of coffee table books (I love books even in the dining room) topped with a decorative object, a bowl, a sculpture. Once you get into multiples like that it doesn't really matter any more if it's an even or odd number of objects. If you're ever interested, I give specific recipes for all kinds of cabinets and tables in my Styling Masterclass (link to the Essentials version is in the description and then you can upgrade to the full class).

    Do drapes look better all the way up to the ceiling? I have a small room with one large window to one side of the bed.

    • @kellyhopterinteriors
      @kellyhopterinteriors  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends how much space there is between the top of the casing and the ceiling. If it’s 12” or more, I hang drapes 2/3 of the distance above the casing. If it’s less, under the ceiling/crown.
