I think that's a very good guess. Based on previous comments Alan has made about swearing off showmances, I'm guessing he's been super-cautious in developing a relationship with Ilona. This interview was the second time in the past few days when he has immediately responded "no" after Ilona comments that she may never see or talk to him again after this show. It sounds like Alan is definitely planning to pursue this relationship after the Mirrorball is awarded.
Don’t see them being in a romantic relationship but definitely being friends and meeting up for drinks and a meal. She absolutely attractive, strong woman and I think she marries an athlete.

As well as, fans saying they are cuz they have been seen holding hands and hugging off screen. But neither of those are confirmation especially when you all are trying to use the fact of them hugging as proof of them dating. Cuz if that’s the case then why are/were there tons of BTS videos of Alan and Ilona hugging, holding hands, and him kissing her hands and cheeks? What does that mean? I suspect Ilona's comments are true. In both this interview and their most recent Instagram Live, she has referred to never seeing Alan again or never talking to him again after DWTS. Though he was quick to say "No" both times, Ilona is spot on. When Alan and Emma become more serious/open with their relationship, Ilona will be gone from his contacts. Deep inside, most women do not want their husband/significant other to have a best friend who is female. It just sets the stage for suspicion.

Don’t get me wrong I love Danny but he just does cool lifts and Witney just performs and makes him look better that what he actually is. Ilona has is a better technical dancer , even the judges have said it .
