"Because of social media you have so many people pushing you to do the wrong thing"-vlad. This peer pressure aspect is partially true, however I think that the more potent takeaway from the aspect of social medias influence is that social media magnifies the humiliation someone would feel from taking an L in a rap battle or just in general. It's one thing to lose in front of an audience of maybe 50 or so odd people in an underground rap battle setting. But taking a L on the world wide web? In front of millions of people? Constantly being agitated via Twitter, Fb, and Instagram comments and DM's? That will potentially drive someone to madness/violence real quick. Just my thoughts.
Social media has nothing to do with it only that now it's being seen. The problem stems from lack of respect and the atmosphere that comes with the music that people insist on making and is heavily marketed to a genre and culture based on societal engineering. If the environment is positive, you'd have positive music, but if it's intentionally stagnated and ingested with negativity as well marketed by the industry and labels that this will be the outcome.
