The Sword of Power needs a comeback. Looks like a fun game. Probably difficult to find one with all of the pieces.

Another game totally escaped me back then when i was a kid. I mean i collected boardgames for a long time and got them for presents, (which that meant getting some duds as ya didn't get to choose) lol
But weird i dont recall seeing it, or many others as i mentioned in another post, in toyshops back then, but there again i kinda lost interest in boardgames at the point Atari 2600 and NES came out lol
If i couldve found those games like heroquest and such back then , my friends wouldve definitely played those as they were into same stuff i was.
I mean I was pretty blown away by some of them when i learned about them awhile back, so for some reason i still want to buy some of those 80s fantasy sword and sorcery boardgames as i still think they are cool, (dang you Dark World)maybe for nostalgia value. Lol.
Just finding sets that havent been butchered up for separate selling items by greedy jerks is hard, but there are a few out there that are complete.
Maybe they just didnt sell those fantasy adventure fighting boardgames around here with how backwards and behind the times it was around here. But red book DnD i recall being sold at Kaybee toys in the 80s.
It was Talisman i think you mentioned in one of the vids, that was another series i never saw any of, which my friends cousin lived in Cincinnati and he found it there.
If i had lived in Nashville or indy or st.louis i probably would have found all those old games then.

I recently sold Dark World. I will give you some advice, its a really cool looking game but is one of the lamest dungeon crawlers to ever be made. Its got really bland rules, its literally just move around and hit things, all characters are the same, every game is the same. The cool factor of the dungeon and such is gone after the first time you play it.

@@RandomEncounterShow yeah, i had watched a few plays of darkworld and i think i gathered the same deduction about it. I do tend to get a lot of letdowns from my expectation about a game like at first i just see its facade, to then finding out its actual mechanics and how it plays. Lol
It is the fragment of my ten year old self in my brain that gets excited seeing those old games, lol it takes some level of denial as my analytical mature brain disassembles everything down once i began actually seriously researching something.
So i get a lot of disappointment in games, no matter when they are made, as at first it might look super cool and interesting, but then i see what its really about and then im like "ehhh nah thanks" what a waste of money! Lol dodged a bullet there.
But yeah i dont think id actually buy a dark world game unless i like won the lottery and just had stupid amounts of money to throw away and then id indulge that "missed out" kid in my head who has a big nostalgia drive for those things.
