    But this grass was on our sandy rivers in 60s and 70s. The local name was "kítothia". Then some agriculture officer started threatening our parents with arrest if it was found growing on their land. My father and other farmers uprooted in fear and that's how it got extinct in our area

    Anything that is not African ( in this case, Kenyan) is superior. Our animals have existed for centuries, grazing and eating our national nutritious grasses and rich vegetation, and they were strong and healthy. Our natural grasses and vegetation are better suited for our animals and our ever changing climate. More often than not, i see Africans devaluing their own and promoting that is not African. So sad and unfortunate.

      I largely agree. My biggest fear is for this new plants to later become invasive since they're not originally meant for our ecosystem. Also I found out that livestock emit less methane when they feed on fresh grass than when fed on silage. Juncao also calls for irrigation, most farmers don't have access to irrigation
