The “squishinator” truly classic. Great job. However you just gave him the ability to pull anything he wants to now. I like the added gussets at the end, he’d be hard pressed to mess that up. Thank you for another video.
I can see the next weak spot... the factory frame. Haha. You did the perfect fix for the situation, it's a WORK truck not a pretty boy poser. Great work!
You made it better than it was with the thicker plates and reinforcing everything with the flat bar. That was a fine repair. I like how you evaluate the problem and make it cost-effective for the customer but also go the extra mile to make it better!
Another Job well done. That bumper looks dead on square with the back of the truck. I think that pintle hitch sticking out so far aided in the bendification of the brackets, man that's a shin knocker.
@@NBSWELDING Hey C.B. you're welcome. I enjoy your videos and also like your saying, "Learn to use what you got and you'll have everything you need". As I was looking at the receiver I thought, Johnny's got that pintle hitch all the way at the top of the receiver. The bottom holes and gusset could have been cut off, the receiver pushed all the in and the hole redrilled. This would reduced the length of the lever that bend the bumper down and keep your shins a little safer. That is if he didn't need it on another truck where he needs the lower holes and gusset.
Johnny should be the happiest hog at the trough you got his truck repaired and ready to roll. The repair job is excellent and definitely improved. Looks of thing the winter salted roads of WVa are starting to work on Johnny truck. Thumbs up on this job. I’ve got one of those craftsman torpedo levels like it too.
Hi , that's a good strong fix mate, probably strongest piece on the truck, lol. And I like the way you talk us through these jobs, one step at a time, excellent camera work. And I complement you on a clean, tidy shop, it makes work so much easier, and safer. Best wishes to you and your's from Yorkshire, Stuart UK.
Alot stronger than the original. I like the idea of the stop welds to keep the clamp screw from sliding. Neat trick. That's going in the file. Good job!
Between Johnny and Dalton, you will always have steady work heh. Also good to see the ease in which overbult can vlbe repaired, vice needing a full rebuild.
Yessir and thank you again for your helpful support...it sure seems to come at the right time...we've been having an absolutely awful time with merchandise lately and I'm sure it will all work out if we tuff it out through this hard part but for right now it's putting us in the red...we have screwed up cups from my Buddy Kenny and screwed up shirts from 4-imprint, got money invested in all of it trying to get merchandise for the viewers and got nothing that I can send out right now. I know we'll make it work eventually...I don't give up that easy, your help sure helps...be well 👍
More than welcome Brother! I'd suggest having a "whatcha got" sale for the defect merch on the channel, noting the defects add style heh. Hell I'd buy em. @@NBSWELDING
@coreyl1501 I hear ya but I can't have stuff out there with my name on it that is wrong or doesn't work...I just can't do that...the cups Kenny made are beautiful but the QR code won't scan and I gotta destroy and dispose of them...no way I'd take a chance of frustrating someone by having them stand there holding their phone up to my QR code knowing that it's not likely to scan...that's not gonna happen on something with my name on it. We finally got a shirt proof that is correct and the shirts should be here September 5th
My Dads 1976 F-250 Trailer Special The hitch on it was built with a section of square tubing that ran under the bed I would say to approximately 4’ and triangle gussets were welded out where the trailer hitch was It was a very strong setup But I see on the truck you’re working the gas tank is the way My Dads truck had saddle tanks so the under side was clear under bed .
No...put your ground on the part your welding and make sure you have a good clean spot to ground I talked about that in the tractor video below th-cam.com/video/6pJYqLT_Cpc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WkrRP3efdT_JQ4TT
The only shocking thing about this, with the good 20-24” of leverage that the pintle hitch has on those two 3/8” plates, is that it took this long to tear it up! Sketchy, to say the least.
Famous Gentleman in Canada also said that Red Green ""All it takes is a little imagination, some mechanical ability, and neighbors who mind their own business."
I got all those things you mentioned so I reckon I'm pretty fortunate....actually not only does my neighbor mind his own business but he's also a hellova good welder...he's helped me out many times when I got really busy
I love seeing how a guy with your experience would tackle a job like this. Awesome! Can I ask what your wire size is and the settings on your 252 is please? Thx CB.
Best way is right here through TH-cam...every comment on the videos helps the channel by gaining favor with the algorithm If you need to contact me privately about hiring me for a job you can email to nbswelding@aol.com or call 304-613-WELD but that is for paying business only...I don't offer free phone consultation just to bullshit about things that other people want to talk to me about. I take time each day to read and respond to TH-cam comments so that's where the bullshittin' needs to be done....thanks for your cooperation & understanding
not that it's your duzin but wAAAY too much stickout of the trailer pintle away from the frame..leverage is too great..did what ya could w/it..duzination LOL
No problems now. Beefed up and looks nice. Thanks for the videos.
You bet
I love the custom CB language lol the squishanator lol
😄
So great that you drop these videos so often. Us viewers certainly appreciate all of them. Can’t wait for the next one CB and that’s NBS 👍💪💪💪💪

Massive amount of strength added to the ol truck even Johnny Vaughn proof lol

Solid repair. Customer should be more than satisfied with your excellent work and willingness to get him back to work without delay.

Thank you

Good job. I have a tendency to want to rebuild, but you don’t always need to do that. Great example here.
Right on
I like the extra diagonal brace you put in there. If you were able to shorten that pintle hitch mount, it would put less leverage on the bumper.
Many people have mentioned the length of the hitch
Another Job well done. That bumper looks dead on square with the back of the truck. I think that pintle hitch sticking out so far aided in the bendification of the brackets, man that's a shin knocker.
Others have mentioned it being longer than necessary.

That looks like the stuff I weld on at work. It's all been recycled several times but the boss says "make it work." Another great video!

Nice work CB, let’s see what Johnny can do with that 😁👍
We shall see
thank you
You're welcome
Nice repair. Getting it done, making it work. Cost effective for Mr. Johnny. Thanks for sharing.
You bet
Well, that is a good solid repair - so who is taken bets on what other part Johnny bends next time when he does it again! 😁
Bets on what bends next & also how long before it happens 😁
That there is weldinated!!!! Johnny can work

Johnny is rough on his truck
He gets shit done though...half a dozen 20 year olds couldn't do what he gets done in a day
Won't bend that again

Did you have to disconnect the battery before welding the truck?
No...put your ground on the part your welding and make sure you have a good clean spot to ground
I talked about that in the tractor video below
th-cam.com/video/6pJYqLT_Cpc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WkrRP3efdT_JQ4TT
Thanks C.B.!
Do you disconnect battery, batteries, when welding on a truck ?
I enjoy your expertise and the t shirt Tina sent me.
I do not disconnect batteries...I talk about that in the tractor loader repair video

I am going to get me one of those levels
They are handy

It was doing good with 13K# on the hook...until he put that turbo diesel in 4LOW & farm jerked it out of the ditch 😁
Classic Johnny!
😁
Got 'er done, great job! Did you guarantee it, to hold up for excavator loading-? 😂
I just fixed it and got paid...I didn't write out any sort of guarantee

great job!
Thanks!

@NBSWELDING Ok thank you CB!
😳👍👍
👍 👌 🙂
good fix, i assume the welding is all short circuit mig, correct
Yes....Surearc S6 Lincoln wire .350dia with 75/25 shield gas
@NBSWELDING bout 300 amps I imagine with 1/2
@@Geezer661000 dunno amps on MIG....Millermatic 252 shows volts....running 18 volts @ 295 ipm wire speed
@NBSWELDING sorry, I meant ipm. You answered and much obliged. I know you have more to do than answer dumb questions. Enjoy videos, very practical
He. won't be bending it again.
Right...not sure what will bend next 😁
CB, you have done several reviews on the Arccaptain Mig 200. What is your opinion of its capability to weld C4 and C5 channel using mig and stick?
It is capable of welding any steel type with MIG, TIG, stick, dual shield or flux core
Performance of the ARCCAPTAIN MIG 200 is good with all processes
Next time he probably bend the frame...
Or the trailer 😄
Nice work, what is the clamp you used to pull it together?
Google search "Extra heavy C-clamp" ...there are similar ones available from companies like Wilton...mine's so old I'm not even sure when it was made
I welded a nut on mine so I run it tight with an impact gun & socket
Awesome, Thanks!
