Thanks for this video. 👍 I landed here because I'm curious if any modern gravity rail systems have been built for inner-city, cross-town public transit.
Amazing film, thank you. Is it possible to see POV (point of view) footage of the whole ride? I see that there are a few excerpts showing what it was like from the front but if there is the full ride it would be wonderful to see ... as if to experience for oneself! I can't believe how little there is on TH-cam about this historical roller coaster.
Lee Hilton, now the whole switchback railway has been stripped. It probably has been for at least 50 years. Now it’s a long trail up and it’s super fun and the view is very nice up there on Mt.Pisgah. There is *a lot* of coal, quartz, and shale along the trails where the switchback was. When I was in 5th grade, we had a field trip and we hiked up Mt.Pisgah, we went into the #9 coal mine (I have a video of that)but it has been reuploaded pretty recently) then we went into the museum. You should look it up online or look at my weird video on it(it is kinda weird because I was messing around with my friends a lot in the mines but it is still pretty cool! *I could send you a link if you’re interested*

I always wish that it could be restored. My grammy always told me about riding it to JT and back
what did she say about it? was it rough? what were the drops like?
