Here's my tip: the light brown wavy lines on the map that LOOK like they're drawn out roads are actually fancy underlines for the titles of the various areas.
Haven’t been this hyped for a Pokémon game in a long time.
Same here. At first when it got revealed, the frames looked bad in the trailer and wasn't hyped, but now seeing videos about it has gotten me very excited
Last time I was hyped for pokemon was Pokemon Black and White

This is the first time I plan on buying a Pokemon game on release, actually first game on release ever, I'm that excited for it.

Very important one: Save all the rare candy for the endgame. When you reach around lvl 80, your pokemon will need about 20.000 exp to lvl up. To compare, a Large Candy will provide only 10.000 XP, so you can see its a pain to reach max level.
Why would I want to max level my pokemon? There is no reason in this game for that, there is no trainers to battle or an elite 4....

Hey everyone when you do the shiny ponyta quest, make sure to save, it can despawn or runaway
Save Right before doing it**
You can retry the quest.
Is that shiny Ponyta the shiny Gyarados or Haxorus for legends Arceus?

One of the coolest things I've noticed so far with sidequests is that ones that involve you bringing someone a pokemon or suggesting they get a pokemon's help, if you go back later you see those people with pokemon by their side, I'm still super early in but I really hope that if you do all the quests and stuff like that you change a town that used to be terrified of pokemon into one where people and pokemon are living side by side as they do in the games set in modern times
This has by far been one of my favorite aspects. I really feel like I'm helping a civilization overcome their fear of pokemon and I love witnessing the community grow🥰

Also coming back later to interact with villagers that you gave a pokemon to and the pokemon evolves. So far two pokemon I provided to villagers have done this. It's nice to see that.

Remember, if you hear or see a shiny, especially hear one, save asap or immediately so if you mess up, you can find it. Especially if they despawn for whatever reason. Saw a video where that happened with a Riolu or Lucario. Don't know if they didn't move fast enough or if it was entering a new zone/territory thing. Or just being to far away from it and it despawned. Either way, point is, save when you hear the sound. So if it despawns and you know where its location, you can reset and zone onto it and catch it asap.
Guess what? I saw a shiny drifloon in my first hour and it killed me!

For tip 7, i often explore much longer than needed to complete the story. In another game, (tearaway unfolded - higly recommend trying it) i spent more time exploring than progressing. My family which was watching me play it even got pretty annoyed because i always had to find every single secret area 😆
Oh my god same- I’m always spending so much more time just wandering around than I do just playing through the main story- it took me a few days (if not a couple weeks) to finish Pokémon X because of the amount of exploring or shopping around I was doing on the side
It’s such a fun thing to do regardless of how big the location a game is set in or how compelling the story is. Even in games like BOTW or Genshin, I’m just spending most of my time climbing mountains and wandering through forests… just because. It’s one of the main reasons I look forward to each new generation of Pokémon- it gives me yet another region I can explore and remember every minute little unimportant location in and really take my time experiencing like I live there or something. I hope they up their game when it comes to that aspect- the amount of pure joy I get just when finding a hidden grotto or a secret cave or dungeon or a completely optional route (or even town) is unparalleled. Hopefully there’s a lot of that in the next upcoming games.

I also play games **super** slowly; after one hundred hours of play time on Shining Pearl, I only had 3 Badges, but I'd found 145 different statue variants from 477 digging sessions in the Grand Underground. At that point I noticed my Trainer Card had turned blue and there was a star on it, but I'm not sure exactly what triggered that...

I'm playing Bloodborne while waiting for PLA and I'm doing the same. Pretty sure I'm WAY too overlevelled because of it 😅
also u can throw multiple pokemon to do multiple things. not just one at a time per tree. if there's a rock and a tree just switch and throw both pokemon or all of them if u like. u can farm faster that way. also u can just keep walking and throw the pokemon he will gather while u go to ur next objective.

I was running around in like the first hour and a half of the game getting shinx and saw a shiny one. I was soooooo happy. And I Did catch it.
Nice! Last night I got jumpscared by a shiny Luxray that was at least 15 levels higher than my party but I mowed through with pokéballs and caught it 😂

I'll vouch for the advice on the alpha Pokémon. I found an Alpha Luxio right near the beginning area of the game, and it was level 40, while none of mine were more than 20 at the time. I didn't actually battle it, but I did manage to sneak up on and catch it by hitting it with a heavy ball from behind.
I'm loving the exploration and completing the Pokedex. I still haven't fought the first Noble Pokemon, but my Pokemon are all around level 60. The best thing is the game is opening me up to using Pokemon I never would have in prior games, and making me wonder why I hadn't used them back in the day.
The new battle system does provide a sort of balancer that makes certain pokemon viable where they weren’t in other games. Since a speedster can’t just sweep your team because you get a turn to fight back, even slow but powerful pokemon have to be watched out for.
I really recommend just doing the noble for more warp points. The first noble is only lvl 18,

If you use an EXP Candy on a fainted Poke and it leveled up in the process, they're revived as well.

Thanks Dan! I’m being very careful with which Poke-tubers I watch right now to avoid big spoilers, although I don’t mind the smaller spoilers. You and only a couple of others are doing your best at avoiding the big ones (e.g. gameplay), so thanks for that. I’m also excited at your huge positivity of this game.

Am a exploration/side quest/talk to everyone type of player. Almost all my games it takes me a long time to do the main story because am just doing everything else. So am definitely will be doing everything that I can.
This is the best way! I love the adventure!
Reminds me of why I really enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn when it released...I spent so much time just wandering and exploring to the point I spent days if not weeks before touching any real 'main story' progression. And I get to do it all over again next month with Forbidden West
I recommend you to go till the end before going sidequest, a lot of then need you to got far on the story.
Me on Pokemon let's go. I had 3 badges and ended up being lvl 95-97 for my whole team before Erica... Shinies I tell you...

for tip 7, best advice is to finish whatever pokemon that are feature in side quests (bidoof, wirmple, the silver bird, and shinx) and move on slowly. By doing this, you can enjoy the game without worrying about backtracking

Yes, please do play it with sound, it's really helpful when a shiny pokemon appears. I was flying on the over world once and heard the shiny sound. I could've missed that shiny if I didn't turn on the sound.

#6 error you can not use crafting material in your storage in the field. you can use them at crafting spots. but in the field you can only craft with whats in your satchel.

It's 1:4096 but if you have perfect.pokedex entries and find them during the times they gather up in groups u have a way higher chance like 1:200

I love the fact that you could potentially roleplay as a Hunter/Gatherer/Crafter in this game if that's what you want to do
Thanks for all the tips man, I’ve noted all of this. Especially the taking my time. I’ve always been the type to power through the 8 gyms and league just so I can get to competitive battles ASAP.
But understanding that competitive isn’t a thing in this game, taking my time is more important than ever
#9: Do side quests early as a lot of the items you get rewards are often better set to that point in the game.

I would recommend getting your pokemons levels up there! You can become under leveled fairly quickly since there isn't too many player vs trainer battles, catching pokemon/defeating wild pokemon gives your whole party EXP - I was tragically under leveled in the 2nd area it was bad! Just try to complete pokedex pages to help get your levels up :)

Great tips!! As a fairly new to Pokemon adult player I've been struggling with some of the controls and navigating how to do certain tasks. I do have to say I like not having to battle every person you come across like the last 2 I've played (just bought Pearl about 2 weeks ago which was similar to Sword that I bought last year).
I love the freaking exploration aspect of BOTW, if this game is similar I cannot wait!!

I'm definitely challenging the alphas early. I always enjoy taking on jrpg bosses that are over leveled and making it a true boss battle.

@@shadow99917 All I said was that I wanted to challenge them earlier. Adrive said that he felt he waited too long to challenge a lot of them. Obviously, it's a Pokemon game, so there are only so many ways to go about whittling down a higher level Pokemon, especially before you've caught many Pokemon, and in a single battle where more wild Pokemon have the opportunity to join in. Also, I don't intend to be able to catch them, since there are certain milestones you have to reach before you're allowed to catch Pokemon of certain levels. I just want to see to what extent the game allows you to take on higher level enemies, especially given the new move system.

It is to be a sneaky Boi. Use all of your items. Then run like hell when things hit the fan. If you get lucky? Nice.
If not. Back to grinding for items.

I’m definitely going to be one of those guys with 7 or 8+ hours of gameplay before the first boss. That’s just how I normally play my first play through of most games.

Curious: What’s the replay value of the game? Is it one and done or does it beg for another run through after? Like I love Pokémon Snap but idk id ever start from scratch again.
The only reason I can think is if you’re weird like me and want to bond with a new team of six Pokémon like you did the first time around.
I'd say the replay value is fairly high for a pokémon game. The challenge runs on this game will definitely be the most fun

@@lucaxtshotting2378 no games have a randomizer until they are modded. The game will most definitely get mods, but it sounds to me like you are really looking for anything to get upset over. I'm on my second playthrough now since I'm trying to 100% the entire game from the start.
Do you recommend evolving your Pokémon as soon as you can or should we wait? I thought I read somewhere someone evolved a Pokémon and missed some info they needed for the pre-evolution
If you can delay the evolution like past games then just level up as much as you want 😊
Depends, if you're trying to complete some pre-evolution pokedex entries then go ahead and wait but it's not really a big deal if you evolve and then "miss out" on pre-evol entries, you can just catch a new one. Catching lots of pokemon is a feature
I’ve been running around doing things, especially after getting Wyrdeer since not only is it fast and can jump, but when you mess around, you can climb some cliffs I don’t think you are meant to. Example, I was over in the starting area of the marsh area and there’s the cliff to the north of the camp and using Wyrdeer I managed to get up there with the Alpha Raichu where I managed to catch a wild lvl 41 Pichu when my strongest was my 20 or so Dewott and it’s been fun seeing what things I can do. I’ve also used him to jump those large rivers when I see the little bit of land dip into the water on the opposite side and if you mix riding Wyrdeer and desummoning him mid jump, you can get some extra height and whatnot to really climb steeper cliffs

I tend to be the kind of player who may never finish the story of a game but still spend 50+hr exploring (LoZ:BotW being an example), so this game will probably be a gigantic time sink for me haha

@@js8430 Sadly no, I've almost 100% it other than actually fighting Ganon and I spend most of my time in the game collecting resources, hunting stuff, and roaming around haha

@@js8430 I entirely get that. I have never finished that game either. I always end up just messing around too much. Have over 200 hours of Skyrim and I think I only went to High Hrothgar once =P

In regards to number 8, if you knock out a Pokemon can you catch them afterwards? Or is it like old games where they cannot hit 0HP

I found out pretty early on that you can focus and aim items at the same time and it target locks as long as they are close enough to focus on
Yo dude i have a question, how is friendship built? Because im looking to get a sylveon in the game but i so far havent seen anyone talk about how to build friendliness
I would imagine it's the same as most of the other games, by winning battles, using items on it, etc
I got one by accident, as long as you have an eevee with a fairy type move, use it to battle, gather items with it, take it out of it’s ball and speak with it, make sure it doesn’t faint in battle, and you can see next to the pasture with bellamy how your friendship is going with it😁

if any mon is this game, all the line is in. Thats why there is a lot of pokemons from 2nd and 1st gen in this game but not much from 3rd and 5th. because 4th gen gave evolutions to a lot of mons in 1st and 2nd gen.

Starters are indeed locked

@@sleep170 that is only for chimchar, piplup and turtwig lines. U can’t hunt the actual starters.

What i want pokemon to do is to hire more employees because we all know they have more than enough money lol. And then make a game every like 2 years instead of bad porrly made and rushed ones every year, so every 4 years we get a well developed new generation. and then in between we get like a smaller spinoff game or a 2D game. I kinda want pokemon to make a game for the older fans like a 2D game. I personally preferred the 2d games i felt like characters and pokemon had more soul in them, but OBV it wouldnt sell as well so it could just be a spinoff game.

My best tip is that time stops when you battle pokemon, especially in timed things like space time distortions or massive mass outbreaks battling the pokemon to catch them will allow you more time to let more pokemon spawn
Something I noticed about the game's title is that Arceus is in a different font, meaning we could get more pokemon legend games which would be sick.

I just got the game today and I made sure to watch this video before playing and I’m glad I did. I rushed into my first alpha Pokémon battle in an attempt to try to catch it (everyone in my party is under 20 and it was triple my current level) and managed to get it. I was ecstatic. I love this game
