- A Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!
The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many individuals in our community as he can.
We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Nathan is known for always maintaining a positive attitude when faced with adversity. His wife, Jennifer, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. They are the parents of three children - one of which is severely developmentally disabled and requires 24-hour care.
Nathan and Jennifer have always been very frugal and have managed to avoid building up large amounts of debt. He has been out of work for about a month due to medical issues and their savings account was hacked
With all of the hard things happening in their lives, Nathan and Jennifer still look for opportunities to serve others. He was one of the first to jump in and offer help when a friend had a baby in the NICU. They have taken a lot of hits but continue to fight to make a better life for their family and others.
Secret Santa learned about Jennifer and Nathan and asked the East Idaho News elves to take them some special gifts. Watch the video above to see how the surprise turned out!

The other day I had a homeless guy walk up to me at the town center asking for mere pocket change so I handed him $5. He thanked me and gave me a hug. Less than a minute later some woman got out of her car and thanked me for helping the less fortunate. I felt so good afterwards.

I can't believe the bank would not reimburse them for the funds that were stolen. They could and should easily investigate the fraud. Shameful.
Thank you for bringing this up because my first thought was 'How much did they actually have and where because _Banking Institutions_ are required to INSURE your money up to a certain amount!' Now the same is not true for 'Investment Accounts' so if their money was in a 401k then yeah, they lost it! An IRA is protected up to a certain amount though...

I live in Florida and some jerks in California got my debit card information, figured out my PIN number and stolen hundreds of dollars from my account. The bank initially gave me the money back but when their investigation was done they said I lying and took the money back. I got so mad because I live in freaking Florida but yet managed to transport myself to California and take money. The next day I closed my bank account with them and when they asked why I told them and the teller didn’t even care or try to keep me as a customer.

He is so good. He also really fights hard for missing children. He's not afraid to ask parents the hard questions. We've had a few sad deaths in East Idaho involving missing children.
I think it would be a great job but it would be emotionally taxing as well for him and the crew.

I had a friend. Probably my closest friend I will ever have. She had a brain tumor. It was cancer but she did well the first time. It could never be removed completely because of where it was. The tumor started to grow again and there wasn’t nothing that could be done. It all depends on how the cancer responds.

We're taught to be so polite...I'm okay. I'm doing okay. I've had cancer, believe me, she's not okay. IT"S HARD to be sick and care for differently-abled people. One of the hardest things you will ever do in your entire life. So happy this was done for them.

I love this because the giver genuinely wants to do good. He isn't doing it for the likes or doing some fake set up social experiment ( paying people $1000 to speak to a fake homeless person etc) to get a reaction. Its real generosity with pure intent and that makes it all the more special.

This is one of my favorite stories. She is so delightful, and her husband certainly cares lovingly for her. I’d like to see a follow up on this story. My other favorite story is the senior citizen that had a paper route and didn’t trust you. She wasn’t going to take the cashiers check to the bank until she talked to her children. So funny!
