Can’t wait… Chicago Basin will be #9-12 in a month!
Thank you for these excellent videos! Informative, fun, no BS.
You make the 14ers way more accessible to thousands of us… and safer.
Thanks so much, really glad to hear they have been helpful for you. Enjoy the basin, its amazing!
You have a great eye for choosing feasible lines when the going gets inobvious and do a great job of conveying it. Extremely useful skill for the less traveled peaks.
Just booked my Train reservation for this August 🤘🤘
which one takes you to the trail head?
@@caseyhunt I called them to make that reservation, they'll make sure you get the right train
can't wait to tackle this one hopefully train is running
Watching all your videos from Spain. Congrats for your channel, its gold for me could watch these peaks. Thanks!!
In your climbing ,hiking travels try the Mountains around Monteray ,Mexico . You will be amazed ,especially those surrounded by the city . Big walls , harry ridges , possible snow , high elevation differences and a fabulous city and country side
To the north are the quartsites/grenadiers . Al kinds of mountains to go for .
At the end of each mountaineering adventure, the Virtual Sherpa gives the route a 'Dog Score' (reference to Doug Muro).
I think I will plan this trip for September 2019.
Awesome spot if you are willing to add those extra miles!
Hopefully the train will be running again by that time. Thanks!
How did it go
I was able to do windom as a sunrise peak with my backpacking group and then we proceeded back to the trailhead, starting the day 2:30am and ending the day at 10:00pm.
Thanks Bro and I have 51 more to Go.
HighSpeedNoDrag nice man good luck 👍🏽
Thanks a lot for this! Going in 15 days!
Did you end up going? I'm going at the end of the month and wondering if it is possible to hit Sunlight, Eolus, and Windom all in two nights.
@@dannydelorean5807 Yes, you could do Sunlight and Windom in one day and Eolus early the next day early and possibly come out that evening fast enough to catch the train.
@@wmbiisurgeon9087 good to know! Thank you!
Cool hike!
I don’t get why that big crack makes it a class 4, it looks less exposed and better rock than the chutes on Quandry west ridge
TBH - High class 3 and low 4 are all relative to me.
can you camp at twin lakes? everything I see says to camp at Chicago Basin but I'd rather get that extra mile and climb out of the way the first afternoon, and camp at Twin Lakes
I suppose you could, not sure the quality of camp spots but if you aren't picky, I don't see why not. Just be sure to follow wilderness guidelines for camping around water.
What about sunlite spire next door ?
"Ee-oh-lus".
This bunch iis not " car to pk to car " in a day
I disagree. The only class 4 move isn't until the final push to friction climb the last "leap of faith". Everything up to that point is a piece of cake.
Agree ,but weather ,experience, and other factors make one person's 3rd class another's 5.10x
