So happy the SS KEEWATIN was featured. It was truly a miracle she was saved and brought to Kingston. I was following the tow and everything from Michigan.
My grandfather worked on the SS Keewatin for a while as a young engineer (at least, I believe he was an engineer at the time). Sadly, I never got a lot of stories about his time working on boats. He struggled with alcoholism for years before he sobered up, and didn't talk a lot about those times in general. He died in 2012 after a short battle with cancer. I would have loved to visit the Keewatin with him while it was at Port McNicoll.
