I’m a new coaster enthusiast and I’m so bummed that it closed when I was planning to ride it next year 😔, but I get that the park is doing it for the better and I’m thankful that your channel was one of the first to confirm this to the public giving us an heads up, thank you coaster studios and rest in peace kingda ka, the king of all coaster 🪦💚
I can say I am very happy that I got to ride Kingda Ka a few times in the very beginning back in 2005 when the ride was brand new. And yes it was definitely a thrilling ride, but for how short the actual ride is compared to how long you had to wait in line to ride it, just wasn't worth it for me to continue to ride it more times again. However, I am excited for whatever comes next which supposedly is going to even break Kingda Ka's records. It is going to be weird once they start taking the ride down, that I won't be able to see the very top of the coaster and the blinking red light anymore from my place of work.
OMG Stop this video made me cry. I grew up with this coaster and it's one of the first rides I rode to break my fear and help my friend break his fear of rollercoasters. This just isn't fair but life goes on! I made sure to go on the final weekend and get my last rides in. It was one emotional rollercoaster ride. But it was 2 of the best rides I've ever had on it.
This was the most satisfying coaster credit I ever got. I’d waited my entire childhood to ride it and after that first ride I could have flown back home at that moment and be satisfied.
Legendary coasters that are now gone: Big Bad Wolf: 1984-2009 Dueling Dragons: 1999-2017 Volcano: 1998-2018 Vortex: 1987-2019 Minbender: 1985-2023 Top Thrill Dragster: 2003-2021 Do Dodonpa: 2001-2021 And the now the most important one Kingda Ka: 2005-2024 Let me know if I forgot any legendary rides
MindBender at GalaxyLand closed between 2020 to 2021. Also, you're completely forgetting about all the legendary defunct vintage coasters from the 1900s.
An absolute legend and marvel of a ride. I’ve never ridden it, but the sheer scale was ahead of it’s time, the name being floated around whenever considering the worlds tallest, biggest coaster. Kingda Ka was, and still is, a massive inspiration to all coaster enthusiasts and engineers around the world
When I was a kid I printed out a very pixualated picture (printers back then😂) of kingda ka, it was taped to my wall of pride in my room. Ive always dreamed about riding it. I am from the Netherlands and not having any friends who are into themeparks and rollercoasters like me, it never came to a trip to the US to ride the king of coasters. At this very moment Iam planning to visit the US on my own, not specifically for coasters or themeparks (still will visit a couple😊) but I was close. The dreams of Kingda Ka will hopefully always be faster and taller then reality😢.
One of the best decisions I ever made was to go to Great Adventure summer of 2023. Got my first rides on Ka and little did I know at the time, my last.
WOW, this is really great. I know it's a coaster video, but it was moving, exciting, and emotional. Wonderful story telling and the cinematography was flawless. My partner hates that I watch coaster videos but he enjoyed this.
Just like that the two greatest launches in the world are gone forever. I never got to experience Ka or Dragster and I’ll forever regret going to SFGAD in the winter when Ka was closed. I could’ve done it 😢
I remember watching that documentary as a kid at my Grandparents house. It was my number one bucket list coaster and I looked forward to flying over from the UK to ride that thing. I think I’ll always have a part of me that’s incredibly sad that I didn’t get to ride Ka. I’ve never been to a Six Flags park and after the way they’ve handled this closure I don’t think I ever will now.
Great little tribute video! I'm a huge fan of launched coasters and consider them to be in a whole league of their own. Thanks again for sharing the warning of The King's closing, and because of this channel I blew my emergency savings on my trip to Great Adventure (It was an emergy after all). Rode it 17 times, so grateful I got to experience this along with Top Thrill Dragster in its glory days. These hydraulic launches were truly special, it's highly unlikely something like Ka or Dragster will ever be built again. The coaster building industry has moved on, I'm just so grateful for my rides while they lasted. Long Live the King! 2005-2024
The grief I’m feeling from this is kind of embarrassing. This was such an influential coaster. From the time I was 5 years old I was coaster obsessed. Kingda Ka was always my most anticipated roller coaster not because it’s the best ride, but because of its legacy and imposition. I never got to go and I feel like a close pen pal died before we could meet in person. 😓
I'm so grateful that I was able to get on this twice. My first ever ride on this will always be one of my favorite coaster memories. I still haven't wrapped my head around the fact that this record breaking coaster is closed.
It’s so surreal that Kingda Ka is officially retired…I remember my first rides in the early 00’s being scared as anything but after that one ride nothing ever truly scared me again as far as rollercoasters go! I will forever be grateful for all the rides I got on the king of all coasters regardless of how rough they may have been, there will never be an experience quite like this!!! RIP Kingda Ka, I just pray your replacement makes up for your quick and jarring departure🙏🏻
Long live the King! It makes me sad knowing that I never had the chance to ride Kingda Ka, nor will I ever but I'm excited for the future of Six Flags Great Adventure
Never got to ride this marvelous achievement from Intamin, but the book "Roller Coasters A Thrill Seaker's Guide to the Ultimate Scream Machines" can add another coaster to its defunct list. Love live the King. Never got to ride you, but that giant full page picture from the book for sure gave me the butterflies in my stomach.
Sad I never cried for a rollercoaster this was the first I rode it many times it was always my go to roller coaster at Great Adventure my home park It will be terribly missed R.I.P. to the King of all coasters I will never forget you
Was planning on going to great adventure next year to ride it. Now, I don't know when I'm going. Shame on CF execs for not giving this the proper sendoff it deserved.
Kingda Ka got me back interested in coasters in 2016 (I hadn't been to any parks in years prior to that; lack of interest). Shame Cedar Fair (they're the executives in charge) decided to close it. Though Intamin coasters have operational issues; they really did well here.
We're sad about this going in the uk, and most of us haven't ever ridden it. Cant imagine how you guys who grew up with it must be feeling. #whycouldntithavebeenrita
Kingda Ka should now be the official outro coaster
I vote yes
Number 1 comment, let’s do it
Yes
Absolutely
I second this
This truly is a rollercoaster of emotions.
underrated
This is the type of closing scene that all movies need. Long Live The King!!!

This will be more missed than Volcano, Big Bad Wolf, and Dragon Challenge
The volcano closure hurt the worst imo. Especially since that was the first EVER intamin launch coaster.
Ya think?

This legit made me tear up. A great farewell to the King 👑🎢

Kingda Ka: 2005-2024

Top thrill dragster only half makes this list

I never thought a rollercoaster could bring me to tears 😭. Long Live the King 👑 🎢
This is great. The harp arpeggio/ build up at the end is so good
I'm glad you liked it! :)
Making me more sad I never got to ride this historical landmark of a rollercoaster. Man, I wish they'd kept it alive
Same on everything
I needed it open ONE MORE YEAR! I’m going to the park next May

LONG LIVE THE KING. Kingda Ka was definitely my most ever favorite rollercoaster. I'm definitely going to miss it a lot.
For 19 years a king walked this earth and I. WAS. THERE.
This video made my GP friend cry 😭
It’s a shame that I never rode this beast of a coaster. R.I.P. Kingda Ka.
Aaaaaaaaand now I’m crying.
I couldn't stop crying. I'm such a wuss. Damn you Ka! Thank you for this. Love you guys!
It’s still standing, we can still save it #savekingdaka
they've probably already signed contracts for its scrapping and demolition lol
Hydraulic launches have gone the way of the dodo
Unlike green lantern there's no demolition permits
I'm not crying... You are. 😢💔
I rode it once, but that wasn't enough. 😢
You made a grown man cry with this video
You rode it at least
Sad that i never got to experience this classic of a coaster
Awesome tribute!! Long live the King!!!
Ty for making me cry my eyes out and go through an existential crisis
Chills. ❤ Thank you for this beautiful tribute to the king!
Rest easy in coaster heaven Mr Ka - you will be undeniably missed 💔
Anyone else cry?
You both did an excellent job with this, as always! Both of you are the best!
Remaining the tallest until closing is a cold flex 💪🏽‼️
19 amazing years = 20 incredible seasons ;)
One of the best decisions I ever made was to go to Great Adventure summer of 2023. Got my first rides on Ka and little did I know at the time, my last.
There is an eye on my tears

It will never be the same without the king.
I hope Intamin is proud of the community giving the King the sendoff it deserved!
My #1 Coaster!! Very sad to see this masterpiece leave us!! LONG…LIVE…THE…KING!!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Such an awesome tribute!! Ka, you’re SO missed. 💙💚🧡
It's heartbreaking 😢. And just noticed the fact they just got Zumanjuro drop towers and now it's gone.
I remember like yesterday watching the six flags announcement of Zumanjaro
Kinda ka the best ride on earth I cannot believe is not gonna be there no more I'm in tears 😢😭😭
Long live the King! It makes me sad knowing that I never had the chance to ride Kingda Ka, nor will I ever but I'm excited for the future of Six Flags Great Adventure

I really miss this coaster…
Beautiful tribute to the king of coasters. Now head to Charlotte outside corporate headquarters and protest for closing an iconic ride!
I loved when you rode it with that football player! That was so cool!

The King is dead. Long live the King ❤
What a day !!!

Long live the king
Very sad it had to come to an end and without a proper celebration
Really sad I never got to ride it, but hopefully something equally special can take it's place
Thank you ka best launch ever

This ride is a true icon
rivers of america, muppet vision 3d, and king da ka RIP
R.I.P. to the king of coasters. Wish I could've ridden it😔

this was amazing and well put together and i miss the mindbender
Wow what an amazing video. Will always be one of my biggest regrets that i never got to rode it.
And just like that another coaster i never got to ride.
Not surprised by this decision. This should wake people up that NO coaster is safe from being scrapped without notice.
Yall even changed the background for the end credits 💚
