The tensing muscles really helps a lot holy shit thank you. One of the biggest issues with anger for me is its physical and tactile nature. The sensation of tensing muscles fulfills the exact same thing for me as like throwing/punching a pillow which i feel is not a healthy reaction to anger. Thanks for this cheers!
When I was young I had terrible anger control problems. I think they stemmed from child abuse and a childhood where I had no control over the bad things that happened to me. Many of my triggers were causes from my childhood. It took me years to eventually stop it and to take back control
Sorry you were abused, glad you were able to to take control of your emotions when triggered by past situations. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment, wishing you the best
I realized a little bit ago that I've been dealing with rejection sensitive dysphoria while playing through these games, and it helped a lot to start working through my frustrations with sekiro and Elden Ring
Thanks for this video. I am also a therapist and have always loved the souls games for self reflection. Also everything mentioned for anger works great for anxiety, etc. Grounding and being present is huge.
Thanks for watching! Yup, anxiety's all about that worry for the future so those techniques also work for bringing yourself right back to the present. Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for the comment!
I'm naturally a very angry person and started meditating daily almost 8 years ago. For ad hoc emotional regulation I created a methodology I call "RHAP" based on my meditation experiences. RHAP stands for: R: Relax the body, possibly with some deep breaths. H: Be honest about what you're thinking or feeling. A: Accept your thoughts and emotions with nonjudgmental awareness, allowing yourself to think and feel everything without attempting to control them. P: Presence yourself in the moment with whatever is happening. I now find myself doing this several times per day.
That's an awesome system! Glad you were able to come up with it and use it to help calm yourself down. Appreciate the comment and hope you enjoyed the video!
only souls games have got me red hot pissed off and wanna break shit in my house.. just happened the other day while on sekiro.. but thinking about it.. everytime ive let out my demonic hatred and feel like i wanna twist my controller in half.. i notice my red hot fumes subside pretty good on the next death because i had previously went over the top... lol
awesome video! I actually started using these techniques a couple of months ago and they helped me to enjoy shadow of the erdtree a lot more than I enjoyed the base game. What I find really interesting is why a lot of players are gatekeeping ER and create a toxic environment the moment someone uses summons or other mechanics the game offers. I am also a little guilty of it since I restrict myself to sword only. But I can never really point out the exact reason why people get so mad and care so much how others play. Is it because our own achievements seems less valuable when others beat the boss with a much easier approach? I'd love if you could make a video about it!
Thank you! Glad you've been using some of these techniques. It probably has to do with what you're saying and also pride. Sometimes people don't like it when others take the "easy route" or the route they didn't take, not just in gaming but other parts of life too. Happy you enjoyed the video, and it's a great idea for a future vid
Love the content. Good work. I will subscribe and support. Maybe I'll learn a thing or 2 from watching your videos about how to beat bosses and skip some of the anger too :)
Exploring our anger tends to be something that happens when one plays these games; I know for me does Edit: Rellana drove me f**king nuts with her 2nd phase. Had to use my mimic and Leda at level 131 myself. Felt that I didn’t feel the amount of satisfaction after beating her that I expected getting out of it. To the creator: Could you make a video on the satisfaction factor in Elden Ring or games in general? Kind of curious how that works.
Hmm I kinda touched on that in the other video but more on the positive feelings. That might be a good idea for a future vid, thanks for the comment and hope you enjoyed the vid
@@Ghorda9 Her first phase is a lot of fun imo. Her second phase is where she ups the “f*ck you meter” to a diabolical level with increased damage, an arsenal of short, mid and long range attacks and a massive AOE attack that breaks the entire dynamic of the fight. I admit I am critically underleveled for the DLC at level 131 but still, Rellana felt off to me, even harder than Malenia. (I do enjoy the DLC, absolutely love it)
@@sudowtf Did you jump the moon slams? Because if you just don't mess up the timing, it's not hard to avoid. (Lol, add that to the list of things that make you rage. Dickheads chiming in with unsolicited advice after the fact 😅)
Why do diaphragm breathing for the box breathing thing? Personally it always seems to me that a deep chest breath can be more satisfying. The best "sigh" sorta feelings when you feel like you need to take a deep breath for me always come from my chest because I feel like my lung capacity is less via diaphragm.
So usually diaphragm breathing actually provides a deeper breath than chest breathing. You may feel like it’s more because you may move your chest farther than your belly, but as far as I know you actually take a deeper breath through your diaphragm than trough your chest. If breathing through your chest works for you, then keep doing it though. Hope this helped and hope you enjoyed the video!
I'm back for my next Elden Ring therapy session.
LOL same

I've found the safe space I've been looking for after all my Elden Ring PTSD ... Thank you Shuriff
Thanks for tuning in, glad you’re enjoying the content and that you found a safe space

Ayeee stumbled on this and I like the editing and subject matter. Keep uploading !
As someone who goes to therapy for anger, depression and anxiety I will be trying these techniques out for my next Elden Ring Boss fight.
I love this, keep doing what you’re doing, you don’t understand how many people you are helping, it’s amazing, good stuff!

When I feel too frustrated I usually just have a break for a bit then come back on otherwise my chair gets physically abused lol

to let you know, rellana has a ton of blind spots with her attacks and you can jump over at least half of them
