So true. I´ve just started watching the show and I love it. Love the premise of the series, which is really fresh. Ellis just nails it as Lucifer and got tremendous chemistry with Chloe.
I think Chloe opened up to him here because she realized that, as weird as this guy is, he’s somehow worthy of her trust. She needed someone to talk to, and she found him endearing (she was also definitely a little bit into him lmao).

It’s something about the way he looks at her. It’s the eyes. It’s always the eyes and what’s behind them. The way he looks at her I can see a glow and the look of curiosity when he genuinely wants to know more about her. She is a mystery to him in this first episode and he wants to know what’s so special about her and why his mojo doesn't work on her. It’s very interesting when you deeply think about it.
The eyes & what's behind, the explanation Amenadiel gave Chloe in season 5 ep 5. She saw Lucifer as Lucifef not the devil. His mojo did not work on her. That was the gift
If these versions of their characters continued past the pilot they would have been together by the end of the season. They had to pull back on the chemistry after this episode so they could continue the “will they won’t they” for another 4 seasons.
Imagine a different kind of lucifer show if chloe would've been this much nice and open to lucifer all the freakin time and Lucifer would truely be a gentleman that he really is throughout the show and chloe would've fell for him and even he would (not that I don’t like the current show but still ya know mind cab imagine.)
the thing is, on the first episode of the show, luci was shot couple of times and didn't die, and chloe was close to him, i think she didn't have an affect on him on the first episode
There is also a theory that as Lucifer's feelings deepen when it comes to Chloe, the more vulnerable he becomes, as you can see here in this episode bullets don't hurt him yet, but in ep. 4 when Chloe shots him to prove a point, it actually hurts him since he slowly starts falling for her

Chloe really let's out her feelings in this scene. Sure you'd think it's the alcohol but I think deep down, she's quite comfortable around Lucifer.
