Honestly I've always thought it would've been better to give the tows to the gunner, and give the pilot lock on ground attack missiles instead

Honestly a good boat captain can end that shit on this map with a tv, or if you use the aa gun kit with passive radar you can one-shot choppers with right combo

Actually in real life Helicopters the US was developing in the 80's were becoming so good that the other branches of the military like the airforce stopped their development for awhile. The AH-56 Cheyenne was cancelled because the Airforce basically said it was taking away from their job. Eventually the Apache came out and was pretty good but they have realized now that the Cheyenne design was probably better.
I'm more proud of being that guy that kills these guys with an rpg tow or three times in a round and the third kill almost always causes a rage quit. I can see how you're flying nice and easy and it's not as hard to RPG helis as people think.

@@SilkOCE You're alot better than the guys I see on console though and they're usually 50-4 by the end of a round, not 128-0.
When I used to play BF4 a lot, I would usually watch out for RPG’s because RPG’s are the best method of taking out the really good attack helicopters pilots imo since they can catch you off guard easily if you aren’t aware. Good pilots will always keep a keen eye out for RPG’s and dodge them if they are fired towards you.
Ending a pilots kill streak with an RPG just feels so satisfying and whenever I’m flying and I get RPG’d out of my heli, I have nothing but respect for that player.

@@nothing2see315 yeah I definitely agree! Unfortunately on console BF4 is very outdated compared to the recent Battlefield games. I wish they would update the performance on console. But on the bright side BF2042 is coming out and if it turns out to be really good that will keep me occupied.

Thanks! BF4 is definitely still a fun game to come back to once in a while but I'm playing BF5 most of the time.
The Viper is definitely a favorite of mine! Besides what you covered, I like the fact that you can get to and from any position very quickly. So it's fast, and hits hard at the same time. I also use it quite a bit to actually grab flags after clearing out an area; just one less thing for the team to do.

Amazing killstreaks man. The AH is definitely in a league of its own.
Just a sidenote worth mentioning, is that the AH really shines ALOT on Seige of Shanghai making it extremely good (I´m NOT trying to look down on you xD ) where as many/most of the other maps doesn't share the same amount of cover as this one.

The AH is also definitely best on shanghai, but almost any other map can be farmed to 150+ easily. Rogue can actually be better than siege sometimes imo.

AH only shines on this map because there are no other air vehicles or aa, plenty of cover too to avoid stingers tows tvs etc... However skilled heli duo's should be able to take on any map. Hanger 21 by far is the hardest map to fly on (it only has two points for cover, and is very open, + jets + stingers), but is extremely rewarding if done right. Dawnbreaker has everything but has more cover than siege, however because the jets cant access infantry they will always and only go for air vehicles. AH really comes down to the skill of the pilot, and his ability to deal with different situations.
tbf im not a super big fan of the attack helis either.

Just put Fliegers in BF6. They give any lvl 6 noob the ability to take down a skilled pilot with little to no learning curve.

I think having such a great large skill sealing is good, it offers long term motivation. I think it would help to reduce the damage values of the attack helis weapons. Say, you have to hit a tow and a good part of your zunis to kill another heli, or, alternatively, two consecutive tows. This would mean that you would have to be very cinsistent with your shots, again, rewarding skilled players.
The gunner setup in the video is the best, that thermal optic lights all the infantry players up on the screen and makes finding and killing them super easy
easy answer => teamwork, two engineers with stingers or igla can END the fun for helis. Even on shanghai with all the buildings, a two man commando drop on the roofs on the ennemy side can do the trick just fine. Every single time I see an attack helis with 100+ kill all i can think is "what the fck are the engineers doing ?", then I take my trusty aa boomstick and 10 min after that the heli domination is over ....

I like the way they implement it accept for one aspect. Midair reloading. I mis the old BF2 days when you had to hover/land at a controlled helipad to rearm. Likewise jets had to fly along the runway/carrier deck. Vehicles could only rearm from LAVs that had a LMG ammo player in them or a ammo truck at the main base. So you had to manage ammo but could resupply inBruce field all be it at a greater risk.
I used to play lots of BF4 on the PS4 attack heli on siege of Shanghai was the best as dodging round the buildings and doing tricks cause the inf was to dumb to use lock on missiles was fun as

I could never master piloting the attack heli and left that to my mate cause I was an amazing gunner. But the scout heli was where it was at I loved causing jet mains to rage quit cause they can't shoot me down as my squad was awesome at keeping me alive as well getting kills of their own. I hope this kind of teamwork returns in bf6.

If you missed this, PLD are your saviour to assist other launchers on locking without worry about heli's flares or ECM
I think the only way to really balance the attack heli is with a nerf to flight mechanics like you mentioned and a resupply system where you don't have unlimited secondary ammo like TOWs and TVs
Impressive gunning bro. I pilot very well but have gotten out of the loop after 2 years of not playing. What are your tips for dodging TV missiles? The tradeoff is not to lose too much altitude bear in mind.

I think implementing bf5s refill ammo system would help balance. The reload on those guns are crazy.
Pilot and Gunner could balance it, requiring two players in the attack helo? One for flying and marking/spotting and the other to fire weapon systems? It's a tough problem to resolve. Limited ammo and needing to land at a base, aircraft carrier, etc. to restock missiles, rounds, etc. might also limit their effective up-time. Love the game-play mate, keep at it!

honestly i both love and hate heli pilots bc one they give a challenge and two they are so fucking annoying but me and my squad figured out something
the easiest way to kill a good heli pilot is with the AA mine and patience, in my team of 5 theres always a medic ammo and 3 engineers all equipped with AA mines we see a heli make him get close and boom all 3 of them place it at the same time. with enough patience we can make the heli pilot get out of the match bc his KD will go down
Usually Another thing that can help if ur far enaugh away is to just use a soflam/tlm on them , Ur essentially painting a giant target for your team labeled "shoot here" which makes them retreat most of the time if not die if u manage to lock them after they used ecm

Commenting a bit late now but about the power of the chopper I would say it is a bit too much?
Yeah if you're horrible at it you're going to die and any competent jet or tank player can deal with them but when you're against a really good chopper pilot they'll essentially never die all game. Especially on Dawnbreaker and Shanghai where they can hide and out manoeuvre anything even thinking about killing it.
Really good jet players can still be brought down by even mediocre players but I've rarely ever seen a good chopper pilot be taken down by general players it's next to impossible to deal with them on certain maps. Especially since Shanghai doesn't give you AA too.
Edit: I'm not complaining honestly I do love the chopper and it's nice doing well in it but it is insane compared to every other vehicle.

Number one thing that kills me if I'm in one with a good pilot or gunner is dusting. Especially on 30Hz servers, a lot of gunner 30mms will fail to reg on enemy attack helis, as well as TVs.

I find the AH a tricky one as it's really only OP on Shanghai where there's no jets or AA to slow it down. Obviously a good pilot & gunner will still do well on other maps but you can at least tone down the r*ping that Shanghai brings 😂
If you fly smart though, it's very farmable on any other map though

@@SilkOCE farmable yes, but the utter domination of it is greatly reduced on maps like Golmud and Lancang with smart AA play and possibly a good stealth jet pilot on the other side. I've tonned on Shanghai, Dawny and Rogue but never quite managed on Golmud or Lancang.
I used it a lot and I fully acknowledge thermal vision is way too OP in BF4. It needed to be nerfed during the game early life cycle. Something like 2 seconds of thermal follow by 10 seconds of cooldown seems fair to me. Even in tanks I used it to see everything from hidden enemies to hidden C4 and AT mines. It was an easy exploit that should not have lasted. Hopefully they nerf it in BF6 if the game will have it.
I think thermal could just have the range massively reduced.
@@SilkOCE I agree with that as well. Range nerf past 200 m. I didn't have a problem with the potential of long kill streak with a heli in BF4 since it was all skill gap related. Besides most of the people you were killing were rooftop campers. Although I didn't think unlimited ammo should have existed. Anti air weapons were abundant but of course not very effective on maps with a lot of cover like this one. Hopefully they will get it right in BF6 but we've been hopeful for a long time lol. BF1 had it worst, planes were OP and anti air was stationary. They didn't add anti air weapons for assault and support so late in the game.
I had rounds where the enemy attack chopper was also destroying on siege, but most of the time they lost because they only farm for kills and dont go for objectives...
Easiest way to fix the broken attack heli?
Do not let it repair midflight.
Do not let it rearm midflight.
Nerf ECM Cooldown by upping it a few extra seconds.
Remove TV Missiles or nerf their damage.
Decrease it's armour a little bit.
Alternatively, add AA to the map.
Vehicles in BF4 desperately needed nerfed, fighting any vehicle on the ground was near impossible with sound whoring and IR vision. Attack heli was even more broken though, might as well leave if someone is using it to this degree

If you master the attack heli with your friend you are basically the God of that game that can strike anyone down.
Honestly, the attack helicopter isn't hard to counter on Shanghai. If you are familiar with the routes and movement attack helicopters take, you can wait on a building along one of those routes with a SMAW. Usually isn't too hard of a shot.
I think the scout heli is in a good place. The attack chopper is op but the average joe isn’t coming in contact with a good flight crew too often. Usually mid to beginner pilots. Even then the attack chopper can be countered but it takes a equally skilled attack helicopter or a tow. A good AA RCB can also give you a run for your money.
I hate the AC on Shanghai, there's no default anti-air, and spamming Iglas or stingers is pointless when pilots seat switch. Nice vid.

Have you come across teams consisting mostly of players running the Dice skin that makes them invisible to thermal vision? I play in NA east coast, and you can expect 1/3 of players coming across equipped with that. Sometimes you can't tag them with Q either.

It might but I think rearm points have been proven to be a very bad concept in bf5.
In every instance it promotes players sitting back near it. E.g. dogfights often get taken back to rearm and AA interrupts, this makes people less inclined to DF.
Tanks also sit on rearm points and snipe from spawn a lot of the time. What's stopping an attack heli doing the same I guess

@@SilkOCE Depends on how to the rearm points are put in, having a little spot that you can just fly over , i never cared for. Having the classic BF1942 style of having a airstrip or heli pad to go land on to get out and repair while the heli is rearming was always fun. Thats part of the problem with what you showed in your gameplay footage. Infinite ammo. I hope BF6 doesnt lose its sandbox feel but gets quite larger maps. Large enough to have air strips and main bases that aircraft and vehicles set out from, but need to return to to repair and rearm. Not as much of a logistical nightmare as hell let loose, or a meatball fest as current battlefields
I have come across normal-player many times during my games and he is an absolute machine in any vehicle (especially jets)

Attack helicopters need to be susceptible to small arms fire. The average infantry is completely helpless/useless against them. But if they took some damage when I pump a 100 round lmg mag into it while it's hovering right overhead shredding my squad......it might help.

I have mastered the AA to a point where only a very skilled attack jet player can kill me from the air and i can pretty much dominate the entire sky in golmud railway (except for stealth jet because you can't even hit it) and enemies usually resort to jihadi jeeps to kill me
I do think that because the game is really old now, that a lot of what remains of the player base are the really high skill ceiling players. I remember when Battlefield 4’s life cycle was fresh it wasn’t common to see insane players breaking massive kill streaks.

@@SilkOCE same goes on Xbox. The attack heli community was outrageously strong, I could name ten pilots who I reckon would have been near unstoppable in any other server, but in our one or two servers it was always close fighting.

This Is why Shangai needs an AA vehicle even with 20 engineers with iglas AND stingers a good Heli Pilot does this.

The attack heli is considered OP on siege of shanghai simply because people forget that they have LAVs, and they waste their time with lock-ons. It's very easy to TOW the attack heli on siege cause the majority of the time the pilot flies in a predictable manner. (so that his gunner can farm).

All you have to do is pull back while flying in random directions, you won't get hit by a single heli TOW.
Lavs are good to kill the heli, but if you die to it once then you'll just remember to kill the lav every time it spawns which is ez. And yes it's not that getting hit by a heli tow is common but the fact that it can deny a top down strafe so easily is pretty insane

After all my friends quit BF4, all I do with the attack heli is pilot it. Better to play cautiously with a bad gunner than be nearly guaranteed to crash or charge the enemy AA with a bad pilot.
I want to go back to bf2 or AIX where u could chill with a homie together in a jet. Good times..
