Man tell her that's the sickest video you've made yet man love the content love the different riding spots felt real professional man.. love the Free Ride aspect of it
Currently have a 450l supermoto. Have had a beta 525rr, 04 ktm 450 and a 2014 ktm 500 all in supermoto trim. The 450l is my favorite. Best quality of the ones I’ve had. Reliable, feels great, rides great and once it’s uncorked she rips. Only other one I recommend is the newer ktm 500s. Great engine with lots of low end grunt. A bit more maintenance needed to keep it going long term but the power and weight is awesome. They’re a bit corked from the factory as well but a few mods and they really wake up. If you can convert my bikes in your state that may be another option. Or get a cam and vortex ecu for the 450l. Whole different bike after that. Feels like a street legal R model
@@Rickb-m2v depends on the riding you do. Slow riding the 500 is better at lugging. Smaller piston but longer stroke. Has the tractor power that many want for their riding. Can lug that bike all day. In the higher rpm’s the bike falls off so if you enjoy track of faster paced riding the power and doesn’t seem happy there. Long term the bike was significantly more to maintain and keep it happy. They have weak subframes and I found that out several times on light drops. They are light but the weight savings seem to come with a cost of durability so that is something to consider. Also the higher vibrations seemed to cause more wear and tear than other bikes I’ve had. Also had overheating issues with the bike in stock form as well as high speed flame outs. Athena get ecu and upgraded cooling system fixed all that for me. I put 40k on my 2014 and over 30k miles on my 2018. Both leaked like a Harley. The 450 loves to rev. It’s using a larger piston with a bit more compression and a shorter stroke. Rev happy and responsive. Revs much faster than the 500 but doesn’t like to lug in the slow stuff without a flywheel weight. I’m at 10k miles and it’s been flawless in terms of problems. Yes it’s heavier but also but like a tank. I was hit by a van and my bike hardly had a scratch but the van looked like it was hit by a truck. My ktm would have been destroyed in that accident. So it’s proven to take abuse all around without skipping a step. I can’t say which is better without knowing what type of riding you’ll be doing. I mainly ride off-road in the desert and in fast flowing single track. As well as a supermoto at the track. The 450 power band is much better for that riding than the 500 was. It’s also been cheaper to maintain long term that both of my ktm 500s. Neither bike is perfect and they both have cons, so you have to choose the one that fits YOU the best. Both are great bikes but have different strengths and weaknesses.
@@JRodSMX man that’s an awesome response, thank you. Going on that description I think a 450 will be just fine for me. It would mainly be in Supermoto form 95% of the time with an occasional off road ride
Love your vids. Ive just bought myself a crf450r 2018 and converting it to a supermoto. Could you let me know what brand rims and tires you got on yours? Thanks Ricky from London
Are you in 3rd when you clutch up? I'm usually in 2nd or 3rd when I wheelie on my 450l but i'm on stock gearing and wheels/tires. It looks so effortless when you do it.
I have a husky FS 450. The thing is absolutely sick. Hands-down the gnarliest bike I’ve written so far.Although it’s not street legal, you could still go with the FE 450 and convert it.you could Probably get similar results out of that platform.
Hell yeah man looked like a good day, cant wait to shred again. And mabey we can swap bikes..last vid with me in it has guys asking to review the 701.. bet you fall in love🤙
What is the most commonly used size of Tires, wheels and sprockets on these Supermotos? I have a 300xc that I want to convert into a supermoto but I don't know where to begin. Thanks in advance for any info!
Keep that bike! I’ve got an 09 KLX250sf and I love it! I’m going to get a 330 kit for it cuz that’s what it needs. I been running Conti Road Attack 2’s and just had 3’s put on yesterday. I would have got the SM from Continental but they don’t have my size.
Bro, that looks so fun to have a small bunch of friends and you all own supermotos.

Hi mate, how would you compare your 450 to the 500 you owned? Big difference or not?

Yes. Plenty of power and the stock suspension is pretty good on pavement. Obviously it’s not a factory race sm but still does great as a supermoto.
