This is not how minesweeper works. This is totally different. Minesweeper tells you how many bombs are adjacent to the block you just opened. Through deductive reasoning you can avoid the mines. This game is purely luck due to not having this information.
A small tip for protecting against those bad luck streaks. The new implementation of auto-save works when going in/out of the entrance. Any time I earn any sizeable reward, I would exit and enter. If I lost enough money over the next couple of rounds, I'd restart the game and resume from the last auto-save. Only about 20-30 seconds to guarantee recovering up to 140 rupees and be less frustrated.
Honestly, so far, skyward sword hd has been vomiting rupees at me since the start, so luckily I have not needed to farm yet, but I'll keep this game in mind :)

Hey Austin John, love the content, this video helped a lot, only i have so much bad luck, when i win 200 rupees, i then lose 3 times , so my way of doing it ... when you walk in the cave it creates a auto-save, so after each win i walk out and back in to create a new auto-save and then when i lose i restart the game and that way i dont ever lose any rupees keep up the good work!
I'll do you one better, I emptied the flying shop (except for the most expensive item which is not obtainable without wallet upgrades from Mr. Demon) before heading to Eldin for the first time. All you need to do is: 1. Button controls. 2. Exploit the heck out of the bamboo cutting game. You might need a few tries to git gud but I could consistently score above 40 with some practice, which is like 12 more than you need. Also, it's really quick, like 2 minutes a round, talking included. 3. Sell the blue bird feathers, golden skulls and goddess thingies in the merchants house at night for 100 a piece. If he doesn't offer to buy what you want to sell, reset the selection by sleeping in his bed until the next night (trust me, if you get the same selection the following night you are merely unlucky, so reset again. There are three presets, one each for the rare items you'll want to sell and one without any of them).

At first I had terrible luck, 30 minutes into this I have all the wallets, heart thingy and 1000 coins on deck. Thank you and thanks to genius with the simulator
the medium wallet only requires 5 gratitude crystals meaning you only need to talk to the mother of kukiel to get the crystals you need and not 10 like austin said in this video (i JUST did this part and i got the medium wallet with only 5)
This is true; talk to Bats a second time each time you interact, and he tells you how many crystals to bring him for the next gift. If you talk to him after gathering 5, he gives you the first wallet which allows you to save more rupees sooner. I think.
In the Thrill Digger room, there are also rupee ore deposits on the walls that you can shoot with your slingshot! (Watch out for the rupoor though!) I don't know if they respawn, but it's worth it the first time you go in! Also: SIT ON EVERY STOOL/STUMP YOU FIND! It refills your health and also triggers many conversations that you can't see otherwise! Try it at the bazaar, in the tents in eldin, in the sealed temple (don't forget the bottle of revitalizing potion in the treasure chest the first time you meet the old woman!), and all over the knights academy! May the Way of the Hero Lead to the Triforce.

there’s actually an easier way to get rupees. If you’ve completed dodos wheel gratitude quest you can play his mini game and the jackpot, which is pretty easy to hit once you get the hang of it, is worth 500 rupees and each play last like 30 seconds
Love your videos been using them for my play through. I have to say using the bamboo cutting mini-game to farm materials to sell for rupees is a far superior way to farm rupees and less rng. Keep up great videos!
Honestly fun fun island has been my money maker, always land on the 50 rupee with the 10x multiplier to make a solid 500 rupees. You may miss a few times but it quick effective and less time Consuming
To be fair, Fun Fun Island isn't unlocked until the start of the second "arc", before Dungeon 4. This method can be done before Dungeon 2, hence best method for the "Early Game".

I found that the bamboo slicing minigame gives even more rupees for even less effort. If youre in handheld its EXTREMELY easy and i managed to hit 44 hits with the goddess sword. You almost Always get a goddess plume every time you hit 28 and they sell for 100 at the peddlers at Night and at a Cost of 10 per try you get 90 back. I made 700 in just like 20 minutes.

Not that, I mean in the bamboo minigame even if you don't get the plume, the other two rewards that you have a chance to get (feather and skull) both also sell for 100 rupees. So it's a 100% chance to get 100 rupees every 30 seconds.
I play in handheld and bamboo slicing is EXTREMELY hard. The most I ever got was 19 slices after grinding for 3 hours. This digging minigame I farmed 4000 in half an hour. Most of the time I get 7-9 slices on the bamboo which isn't even enough to get my money back. :(
actually, the best way I found to farm rupees is to play the bamboo cut minigame and sell all the monster drops this way you don't have to rely on luck :)
I didn't go through all the comments to see if anyone mentioned this but, I've been taking advantage of the autosave feature on the HD version and exiting the room every time I win a pretty decent amount and re-entering to play again. If I bomb right away or score low, I reload the autosave. I've noticed that the game seems to autosave when entering a new room or area.
Thank you for this video! Very helpful as have been all of your videos. I strongly recommend doing the beginner level several times. If you get all of the rupees without blowing up, Tubert will reward you with Blue Bird Feather, Goddess Plume, and maybe even a Golden Skull.

Before eldin, I did the bamboo game with the thumbstick to farm plumes, golden skulls, and blue feathers from the guy. Then go to the shop clerk's house at night and he'll buy them for 100 rupees each. Once you get to like 23 swings, do spin attacks to get yourself above 28
"Fast" but still requires luck. Getting blue feathers and rhino beetles outside the sealed grounds is faster, because it's more consistent (because you can reset by going through the door and back). It's basically a minimum of 120 rupees per minute with no upfront cost. More if multiple blue birds/beetles spawn.
@@AustinJohnPlays They do spawn. I've farmed them yesterday before opening up Eldin at all. The only time they don't spawn is the very first time you enter the sealed ground, and all you need is the slingshot to buy the Bug Net from Beedle and your golden.
I've played this game 7 times, 5 of those times i've gotten a bomb 1st. 1 time i got a rupoor then a bomb and the other I got 20 then a bomb. Luck hates me it would seem!
There’s a faster easier and earlier way… day 1 go to the bamboo cutting island and just grind that out then sell the golden skulls and monster horns for 100 and 30 rupees each… The easiest ways to get a high score is to NOT use motion controls but use the stick. Flick the stick back and forth rythmicly but not too fast or you will do spin attacks that will break your flow. My current high score is 43 you can prob get higher then me :)
I kinda like both methods, but they also seem to be rather luck based. Frankly, I just go with the BUG method. Selling bugs to Stritch in his bedroom at night is pretty consistent. You can usually find Sky Stag Beetles at the very beginning of the game, no bug net required. Just run into the wall outside the Academy and knock 'em down. And you usually find one or two on the windmill tower outside the Bazaar where the four pots spawn. I made a circular course of starting at the Academy, then running to the tower, going inside a nearby house to reset the loop, going back out, then hitting the tower and finally back to the Academy. I got 20 bugs in about 20 minutes. Each one sells to Stritch for 20 rupees a piece. You can max out your wallet easily there in Skyloft without having to search out rare bugs or even spend money making money.
Killing those black crows isn’t too bad of a farm....the ones in the forest, which is before even the FIRST temple, they ALWAYS drop a blue rupee, and will sometimes drop red rupees. I have everything u can buy except for the medals and the last 1,200 rupee adventure pouch, I’m close to being able to get it by the time I get to the volcano area Playing the bamboo cutting game is a good way to get materials, all u do is slice downward and you can basically get as many cuts as you need, I have to purposefully hold back to get less than 28 cuts for monster horns
Just wait till u lock on to the crow, they gotta be fairly close in order for Link to be able to lock on, and hit them with a horizontal Skyward Strike, it connects every time nearly, I think I missed once

If u go to a bamboo house slightly north of the eldin clouds you will find a man named peater and basically you can cut bamboo and get rare items from him and then sell them for lots of money
I just finished fighting imprisoned the first time. An I saw some of your videos on HD but know you have stuff upgraded and things I don't. My main thing is how do I find some sub quests?
IF you need to farm rupees early just save up to get the net then go to the sealed grounds and capture blue bird then go inside and back out and capture again. Edit: Blue birds spawn in the sealed grounds after skyview temple but they are random so you need to enter and exit the chamber.
There's a toonnn of bugs at the bird statue near the sealed grounds and it's significantly faster and way more reliable than this method Edit: sealed grounds not sky view temple
U know I think I got indestructible joycons cause I've accidentally thrown them playing "let's go" and I drop the all of the place and I still haven't got a problem
Thrill digger is not minesweeper. It's the same concept but in minesweeper there is little chance involved. You can tell if you're gonna get a bomb or not. Here in thrill seeker, there isn't a set in stone set of rules so you can get blown up even if playing mathematically correct.
For anyone wondering no this isn't a new game it's a remake of the original it just has better graphics and some bug fixes and stuff and this game has its original and then HD version which that's what he ment when he said it just came out
I had such bad luck with this mini game even with the strategy I just resorted to farming blue bird feathers for an hour. Got 46 of those :P 100 rupees per feather isn't a bad deal lol
What about the bamboo place. With button controls you can just swipe easily getting 28 cuts earning a 100 rupee item when you sell to the shopkeeper in his house at night
What purpose does that diggable spot have right in front of the fence area of the Thrill Digger arena. It looks like a spot for a jet of air but it is inactive. Can that spot ever be activated or used for anything?
Just another note for anyone who might see this! The amber relic near the vines across the fallen tower respawns every time you play the mini game! Pretty easy way to farm them if anyone is in need of them
Honestly, this method is just as random with Thrill Digger Assistant as without, I tried it, and still when something is 29% bad its still 29% and more often then not THATS where the bomb was, the lower %. The high % can just as much be a good rupee or a bomb, usually a bomb for me, there's no difference in using this and just winging it

“Reload the auto save”....you mean close the entire game, reboot, reload. I wish there was a quit load save option during gameplay.

I actually got a perfect run using the assistant website and ended up getting two silver rupees on intermediate and a total of ~350
I actually managed to get 2 perfect games with this. My highest earning one was 681 rupees.

Edit: Blue birds spawn in the sealed grounds after skyview temple but they are random so you need to enter and exit the chamber.
The blue birds don’t spawn until after the (I think) the 2nd or 3rd imprisoned fight.
RN it’s just regular birds.

There's a toonnn of bugs at the bird statue near the sealed grounds and it's significantly faster and way more reliable than this method

Thrill digger is not minesweeper. It's the same concept but in minesweeper there is little chance involved. You can tell if you're gonna get a bomb or not. Here in thrill seeker, there isn't a set in stone set of rules so you can get blown up even if playing mathematically correct.
For anyone wondering no this isn't a new game it's a remake of the original it just has better graphics and some bug fixes and stuff and this game has its original and then HD version which that's what he ment when he said it just came out

I had such bad luck with this mini game even with the strategy I just resorted to farming blue bird feathers for an hour. Got 46 of those :P 100 rupees per feather isn't a bad deal lol

What purpose does that diggable spot have right in front of the fence area of the Thrill Digger arena. It looks like a spot for a jet of air but it is inactive. Can that spot ever be activated or used for anything?
Just another note for anyone who might see this! The amber relic near the vines across the fallen tower respawns every time you play the mini game! Pretty easy way to farm them if anyone is in need of them

Don’t do the bomb digging go to bamboo island and cut 15 to 19 slices and get 20 rupees profit everytime… easy asf

Honestly, this method is just as random with Thrill Digger Assistant as without, I tried it, and still when something is 29% bad its still 29% and more often then not THATS where the bomb was, the lower %. The high % can just as much be a good rupee or a bomb, usually a bomb for me, there's no difference in using this and just winging it
