There is absolutely nothing about this movie or score that can be matched. It’s flawlessly done. Absolute perfection. I watch it every month for the last 30+ years. It’s timeless and the race to the clock tower scene, Silvestri suspense playing, still gives me chills at 44 years old as it did the first day I saw it in 1985. The chilling music, the suspense, the DeLorean racing against time against uncertainty....its unmatched

At least there is always this fact which is still true about many remakes today. And that fact is this: they can try to remake it, but will never be AS good, nor LAST. Very very rarely does a remake achieve that. Ocean's Eleven and Flubber are a couple examples in that regard.

This score took a relatively low budget film, and turned it into an epic blockbuster. Without the score I don’t think the movie would have felt as big as it feels and now is.
Occasionally, planets align, time is suspended from its course, a Great Film Director, along with his team and a Great Composer/Conductor drive you into a world of pure wonder and madness.
The part at 27:30 is what played during my head when my 19 year old cat died. We initially bought him in mid 2002 and he died on April 22nd 2019 this year. All the 17 years of memory with him made my brain trigger this particular OST. That's why I love the Back to the Future soundtracks, you can apply the OSTs to your own life.

He experienced no pain, no illness, no suffering, no regrets, simply old age passing away. He had the happiest cat-life with me until that point (I gave him all the affection and love). So I feel no guilt, death of old age is the natural set of events. You see, if he died a tragic death (e.g. sickness, hit by a car, etc...), then I would have felt real bad. And I probably would then wish to go back in the time machine were that the case and prevent that scenario. :D But old age is normal.

Tension, Inspiration, Elation, Silvestri just nails it. This score... aaa~ It jsut warps me right back into this world, and I never want to leave. This will always be my all time favorite movie, and his score is a really good chunk of why that is.

Of the most signature 1980's musical soundtracks in film, man. For a long period of time, nothing cannot rebooting such a iconic classic flick like this. Thank, Zemeckis and Spielberg, for making the best films in my favorite decade. LOVE IT!
I really like how suspended chords are used in the music during the clocktower scene... I like that "hopeful uncertainty" feel and I think it's very powerful. Simple but effective.

18:17 - Aside from the main theme this is my favorite bit of score in the movie. That scene of Marty writing the letter makes me tear up every time I see it.
One of the best, most memorable movie music/ scores from my childhood. I know this is being made in England as a musical and from the little I read and heard it sounds like they are doing it right by keeping iconic film songs in the piece and I believe the original composer worked on the musical or at least helped.

When I was a kid, I thought it WAS John Williams. Although, to be fair, he was the only film composer I knew by name and thought every symphonic score was composed by Williams. This was years before we could look this stuff up on the IMDb.
My favourite Alan Silvestri score is Judge Dredd. The first 5 minutes of that film promise so much. The music is amazing, as is the flight through a fully realised Mega City 1 which looks as though it has just leapt from the pages of 2000AD. Then they come to Earth and Stallone does his "Double Whammy" and it all falls apart. It's a huge shame, I went into that film, watched the first 5 minutes and was swept away. It was the most disappointing cinema experience of my life. The music it still fantastic, and they could do worse than to reuse it for the Mega City 1 TV series if it ever comes out...
