@@musicandmovementarts wow. Thank you for the prompt reply and yes, I am looking forward to seeing more! I have been training alone this past year so this has been a great place for me to learn capoeira songs.
@@DWader1993 Kudos to you for keeping up solo training during this time! It's quite challenging and requires dedication! Glad you're finding these useful :-)
@@musicandmovementarts Thanks, I hear a lot of the songs but do know know or understand the meanings. Also, unsure when it is appropriate to sing each song. Having the words displayed on screen is very helpful. Too bad there is no capoeira in Nashville, Tennessee USA
@@breaktube have you tried looking for a teacher to take classes online? It's far from ideal but it is something to start your journey. You're welcome to try out my class in case it suits you. Mandmarts.org As for when to sing songs...depends on the song meaning, what's happening in the Roda, and the toque being played.
@@musicandmovementarts Well, even with COV-19 going on, I was looking for in person classes. Outside or inside would be fine. Seems like capoeira is something I would need to learn around people. Interesting, still watching your videos to learn the songs meaning. Really appreciate the care you are taking to break down the translation of the songs !
@@breaktube I totally agree- capoeira is best and intended to be played with others in close contact! We are doing the best we can with the current situation, and I've found it so valuable to maintain my relationship with my students and keep them growing through this time. If you have a friend or family member to be your training partner, you can do all the movements with that person. You'll be surprised how much you can actually learn virtually with a live coach and a partner at home. And it doesn't have to be with me - there are tons of capoeira teachers teaching online right now from all over the world. Best of luck on your capoeira journey - glad you find these videos useful!
