Gotta DISAGREE with you when you state you have to carry the bucket as low as possible, okay , if your on a site with low overheads, scaffold, other obstructions , fair enough, but In an OPEN Site, field ect, with none of these obstacles it's just plain daft, for the following reasons. 1. It's dangerous because it severely obstructs the operators view out the off side window as the boom's blocking the view. 2. It causes excessive wear on the tracking motors as the combined weight of the boom, dipper arm and bucket are no longer at the optimum height, when the height is at its maximum, the centre of gravity is transferred to the REAR of the machine, which greatly assists spragging the machine around. There are other reasons, but I can't be bovvered.
