Man there's just something so special about performing at Glastonbury. So many great performances. Look up Not even Jail from Interpol at Glastonbury. Unreal!
I remember the first time I saw these guys. It was on a Belgian TV show, and the host mentioned "High Violets", and said it was the best album he heard that year (2010). They played Terrible Love. Man, from that moment on, I was sold! One of the great bands of today, amazing!
I love these guys!!! My new favourite band; come to Victoria B.C. please!! The build-up in the songs, the intensity, the lyrics that are intellingent and relateable and the musicians who lay it all out there for every song! I first saw them on Austin City Limits and was blown away, I had to find out who they were right away. The singer gets lost in every song, man these guys are humble and fuckin great!!
The pulsating instrumentation in this song (especially in this live version) reminds me of Welcome to the Machine by Pink Floyd at times. I'm afraid of everyone.
FREEDOM But you are constricted confined in skin in clothes shoes houses cars and the bitter hug that wraps all around you like a heavy coat. And what is free just evaporates goes wherever does whatever shits the bed wanders aimless not contained by anything or driven by order. Freedom, ironically heavy because it lacks constriction and pain and is not taxed or put upon or obligated, carries a scythe lighter than electrons in a sea of teeth... And you want to be free. I know you wrote this ten years ago but I came here intending to write the comment “is there anything I feel that Matt doesn’t understand in some way. Ex: when my teenage son says devastatingly cutting things, “your voice! is swallowing my soul, soul, soul”
13 years later and I still visit this at least once a week.
Top tune, top band.

They are great. But their lyrics being relatable? The lyrics make no sense
