Bernard is criminally underrated as a vocalist. His voice is a once in a generation voice

I’m loving how many people love them and know the lyrics. Not many people in the States really gave this band a chance. This performance was fire.

Beloved in Australia, the Odyssey number five album went 8 times platinum, the re-release 20th anniversary edition went platinum, 5 consecutive number 1 albums, 18 ARIA awards (australias grammy's) third only to John Farnham and Silverchair.

Sorry for 3 comments in a row, but just so much joy here. In the late 90's early 2000's, I used to have to drive 2 hours every morning and 2 hours every evening to and from Sydney. Powderfinger, Silverchair, and the Eels kept me sane in those dark days. These bands mean a lot to me. :)

When you got the right music, the drive is easy. Come on the other Eels (Parra)!

No need to apologise. Multiple comments is great for their TH-cam algorithm.

I was the old bloke at these gigs, but I loved them, and loved seeing a yonger generation of Australians appreciating these great young musicians. I grew up in the heyday of great Aussie pub rock bands in the Eighties- like Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil snd The Saints. But these young fellas well deserve their place in the Pantheon of Oz Rock music history.

Powderfinger is such a cool band. They are brilliant live. "Bless my Soul" is one to listen to, from the same concert. ✌

I seriously love and miss this band.. I love my rock music, but .. your point about the crowd singing the song. I was actually at a John Denver gig and he stopped singing and the audience just took over. At the end of the song, he spoke to us saying that it is a shame that for most of us we will never know the feeling of sitting up at 2 am writing a song and wondering if it is good enough, and then years later to be playing that song in a different country and the audience ... just sing your words back to you. It must really be something.

This song means a lot to me. I was living across the country from my partner for several years. I think when I sang this it was like a real defining point of where we decided we couldn't do it anymore. I wasn't going to move back, he wouldn't move to me so yeah we called it quits.
    Still best mates though.
    I like "Sunsets" also

People pulling togetherness on the same groove is a powerful thing.
The one that got me was seeing U2 in the LA coliseum. To me it was like all the tension had left the building and we were all truly a family . Great experience, Woo! Thanks wolf gang. ☮️

I don't know why they are playing LIVE versions of this song and earlier I saw Hunters and Collectors LIVE as well.
Neither versions would I play to someone if I was trying to impress them.
I love both Bands with an intense passion.

Was a huge hit for them but I certainly wasn't a huge fan of this song. I think the sad slinky film clip had a lot to do with it.
This live version is honestly pretty ordinary.
Big Powderfinger fan, but this is maybe a 3/10 for them.
